Replaced the FSB, brake, gas block, top cover, safety lever, gas tube
Rear sight leaf, cleaning rod. Got the bullet guide riveted in place and ground flush, the trigger guard welded in and all the fcg holes and other receiver holes welded and a full repaint with new izzy furniture.

Oh and the correct handguard retainer, which is how it all started

Looks awesome!

Who did the work, and about how much did it cost?

I don't know how to resize either. I downloaded an app on my phone called photo and picture resized. Just open the app select file and select size and boom it's resized.

Gorgeous rifle. Good choice.
So your parts list is $600 and that included labor ??

Looks VERY VERY nice. I didn't see a listing for labor to weld up the holes and paint it
....hence why I'm also curious if that was the TOTAL out the door.

I’m curious too is that the parts cost or parts and labor together? I’m getting ready to have the same conversion done. Minus the welded holes for now and I’ll be keeping the factory selector markings.

I would have charged 550-600 for labor

Labor was separate, $300.
It was a stock fime Saiga, right out of the box.
Got it locally for $450
And the parts were $595

So all together, from stock, to how you see it $900

And I wanted to do the 5.5 folder, still a possibility

Paint and welded holes included in labor

Beautiful rifle! I'd there a reason why you changed gas blocks? Are the saiga gas blocks different ?

The saiga gas blocks and front sight aren't designed to have a cleaning rod.

Looks amazing! Congrats! All the details are spot on.

Could I trouble you to please post a couple of photos of the bullet guide riveting? Maybe one looking down from the top and one from the back looking towards the throat of the bore?

Handsome rifle! Iím going use this opportunity to ask a question that really doesnít deserve its own thread. Hopefully one of you wizards can help... On the bolt carrier, that little inlet to the left of serial number. Itís on most Saiga bolt carriers Iíve seen but I donít seem to ever really remember noticing it on an AKM bolt carrier. Iíve seen it on new bolt carriers so I canít imagine itís a wear mark. What is the purpose of this? Thanks in advance!

Is the Gas Block and Front Sight Block Russian or Bulgarian? If Russian, where did you get the parts? I plan to convert my Saiga soon.

Thanks!

Those are russian, there are some guys in the marketplace with them, but they're pretty pricey when compared with bulgarian.

Very nice. Wondering why the converting member wants to remain anonymous? I'd be bragging about that shit right there!
