Default Sks magazine need help

Of all the bubba'd sks's out there I never thought it'd be hard to find an original 10 round sks magazine, but evidently I'm wrong. Does anyone have a lead on where I could find one. It's for a Yugo 59/66 if it matters.

Well that makes me feel a bit dumb. I didn't even look there and I bought 8mm Mauser stuff from them before because of the sole fact that it was hard to find. A bit on the expensive side, but thanks for the link it's better than nothing.

They're on ebay for around $20.

Most SKS 10-round mags are interchangeable between national variants-- but some removal of material may be required. Actual Yugoslavian mags wont require any work and would be the best choice for hassle free fit.

Advertised as Actual Yugoslavian: https://www.apexgunparts.com/rifles/...goslavian.html

and some non-specified others:

According to the description, those Yugo mags have the bolt-hold open removed, for whatever bizarre reason. Not good. Better to hold out for an original one. Check frequently on Ebay. You should pay about $30-40.

The Gunparstcorp one looks good. Great company. I believe they have a free-shipping code on their Facebook page every Wednesday.

Avoid new stripper clips that are all over Ebay and Amazon. See if you can get Czech "BXN" marked ones, or original Chinese or Yugo clips. New ones are a waste of money.

Yeah I guess I don't understand why they removed the bho feature of the magazine. That's the handiest part of an sks so you can load with stripper clips. I have a bunch of yugo surplus loaded on stripper clips that I bought from sgammo and I've saved them and reloaded them.

Don't know how I missed that. Makes no sense, unless they took em off so they could sell them separately.

The bho feature on an SKS is pinned into the receiver. Unless they cut off part of the follower?

I know it could be done, but loading an SKS with a fixed factory magazine and no bolt-hold-open would be a terrible pain in the ass, whether using stripper clips or loading one-by-one.

If so, then it was a rare exception, that got scarfed up at mach-speed. Original, steel 10-rd SKS mags haven't been that cheap, for years.

Go to here on SKSboards.com. http://www.sksboards.com/smf/index.php?board=40.0

There's a member named woodwzrd1010 who would probably have what you need.

You'll have to do a quick intro after you sign up to the site, but it's worth the few minutes as it's an excellent resource for everything about and for your SKS.

Thanks. I've been over there before and looked around when I first bought my sks and had thought about signing up but just never did. Kinda forgot about them.
Thanks for all the help everyone. I bought my first house Friday and have spent all weekend moving so I almost forgot about this thread but thanks for all the help and answers.

More than that, the SKS is a rifle you don't want to dry fire as it will cause a cone to form on the bolt face and can contribute to pierced primers.
