In my experience the diopter position has a lot to do with whether the PA 1x prism seems to have + or - magnification.

When wearing my prescription glasses, there's actually a lot of play in the diopter with the reticle still nice and sharp to me, so what I adjusted my diopter for was to eliminate any perception of magnification for my right eye, while keeping my left eye open. When an optic has magnification that's off by just a BIT, like the 1.5x TA44 ACOGs, and I am doing the whole Bindon Aiming Concept thing, I feel a little bit off center, like my balance is wonky or I'm a bit drunk or something. It does slow me down a little. But for me at least, I was able to eliminate that by carefully adjusting the diopter until I could snap the gun from the low ready or high ready and BAM get a great sight picture with no drunken feeling.

Great review! I do like at the 10 minute mark where you reference guys on some sites complaining. If you're talking about here then we pretty much complain about anything and everything.

I recently bought a couple of 1x prism sights to replace my red dots. I mounted one on my 3-gun AR15 and it proved to be just as fast as my red dot on close targets and more precise on the longer range targets because the dot is sharp and clear. I found eye relief to be a non-issue. I mounted it over the center of my receiver like I did my red dot and I can see the full reticle just fine. While at 11 ounces it is quit a bit heavier than my red dot and the battery life isn't near as good, it is so nice to have a dot that is focused sharp and clear, especially when shooting at longer range targets (out to 600 yards) because now I'm not guessing where the true center of my dot is.

I hope they get it to mount low.

I have a shotgun I would like to put a x1 prism on.
Me two. FN SLP MK 1 and maybe the new Turkish bullpup when I can get the aluminum version. Also these will be great on PDWs

I'm just getting a touch of astigmatism and can use red dots but they are becoming annoying. Plus SHTF and your battery dies guess the news. Etched reticles are awesome and both my 74s have the PAs 1-6 ACSS scopes with etched reticles, which I actually prefer in daylight as it is less distracting

Hey guys, we have some accessories available for the 1x Cyclops that haven't gotten a lot of traction yet because they are kind of hidden on the site, but one of them is a low mount that's perfect for scattergat applications. I'm linking to a search engine result here that displays our anti-reflection devices, spacers, and low mounts. The low mounts are $30 and they are high quality, so it's way cheaper than buying an aftermarket T1 mount to mate up with the 1x Cyclops.

I've shot my entire budget with my new Vepr, a thermal scope, rails and one of your 1-6 ACSS scopes, plus last night a final tin of 7N6 that is surely sold out as I type this. But Cyclops plural is in the future as well as 1-8 ACSS for my PTR 91s. LOVE that etched reticle/Man-patterned BDC calculator and reticle system, so easy to imprint in memory, and I'm hoping I can use the Cyclops reticle for longer range slug shooting

I recently wrote this and we published it just last week. Hopefully you enjoy it and find it helpful. TLDR: If you can afford the Trijicon, it is freaking amazing. All it takes is money. If blowing $900 on a scope means instant divorce, then the Cyclops is a hell of a little scope for under $250 with a lifetime warranty.

Bonus points if you can spot the "Fallout" video game reference....

Great article. Does a good job of summing up all the low magnification options we currently have. I have always wanted a Trijicon, but man that is a lot of caps for a scope...

Radroaches are why VATS was invented.

Edit: You guys should make a VATS version of ACSS in green.
