Shot some 11-84 Malaysian today thru the HK91. Perfect function and 2" 5rd group @ 100 yards. Then rang the 500yard Steel gong 19 out of 20. Good enough for me!

1970's smells like old cardboard stock for vintage comic books and vinyl LP records (ah the good ole days). Great ammo - can't wait to shoot some. If any more comes up for sale, somebody please post a link here.

Looks like a load of PMC reloadable .308 has hit AIM! 39 cents a round before shipping. I'll gladly pay 2 cents more a round for the reloadable brass. Damn, it's starting to get affordable again!

^ I wonder what offering that's based on. Their .308 loading or their actual M80 loading.

Most of the cans I got were in grade B Surplus condition. Some were pretty new looking despite all being from '79. Seal was good in the one I popped open.

That PMC looks good if close to Ohio, but they need more than 30 buck/can to ship to N Mexico.

Is there more of it in? Because it looks sold out...or are you referring to an earlier order?

got mine from sure arms......

4/10 cans were sealed

4/6 open cans contained rusty/tarnished ammo

the prettiest of the cans was a huge disappointment. I opened it and there wasn't a "woosh". the factory worker had left one of the pieces of string hanging over the side of the can, so it never actually sealed.

eh....

we'll see if it all shoots. I think it will probably be fine. the rust is all just powder rust, mostly around the extractor groove

the cans are trashed. only 4 or 5 of them are worth using in the future

Whoa, I'm sorry to hear that. I guess we get what we pay for. I bought another case of 960 rounds of Hirt last weekend from Sportsman's Guide for $475 (including shipping) and I don't regret the extra cost.

Did you do sportsmans guide? If you did my experience is if you buy en masse you get fucked shitty products, magic number seems to be >5 of any surplus product and your gonna get some shitty examples. If you call chances are they will work with you to fix it.

Bought some of the Poonyang (South Korean) 7.62x51 from AIM. Arrived the other night. I had to take an oversize screwdriver to it to pry the can open, but the seal appears to have been good as the contents look decent. SG has the Malaysian 540 rounds in a .50cal can for ~$209 (and you can use 4-pay if you're a BC member) and they have a free shipping code that works for it at the moment (SH2717).

I got two cans of each. The Maylay ammo is excellent condition, shiny, even though the cans had some very minor surface rust. The Korean ammo is excellent condition, new looking cans, but the Maylay had very slightly tighter groups from my rifle. Being reloadable, the Korean gets my vote for another order.

My 300 rd. can from SGuide was perfect. No problems at all with the Maylay ammo.

Opened 1 can that the wire lead seals had been broken but no boxes had been opened smelled like a musty basement, opened 1 box and tarnished slightly, mostly the bullet but nothing bad in my opinion but have not shot it... higher humidity where I am at so older factory ammo always tarnished some over the years so the tarnish does not bother me at all... the .31/cartridge from Sure Arms was nice ... cans had slight rust but no big deal, ammo was from Aug 28,77...

Sportsman Guide has it back in stock: ($116 for 300 rds. in ammo can).
I bought this earlier in the month, and it's great ammo and packed exceptionally well. Better hurry - will likely sell out quickly. Use free ship code: cpnship1709

Thanks hourglass. Gotta hand it to SG, their four-pay plan has been a life saver.

You got that bad boy built yet.

I am saving some of my 308 that is headstamped the same so maybe the headspace will not need to be changed.

Of course i need to build mine too.

This stuff shoots amazing out of my Scar 17s:
This is a 6 round group at 100 yards (the one flyer was my fault):

I also had shot some 5 round groups at 50 yards to where all rounds were touching (didn't take any pictures though as 50 yards is not that impressive of a distance and isn't really indicative to the accuracy/consistency of this ammo). This really is great ammo and I'm about to be in for another 540 round can.

Received another order from SGuide yesterday. The ammo can was in perfect condition, and the ammo was pristine (again with the ribbons around the boxes). This time the ammo was dated May 1982. My last batch was from Nov. 1979. Amazing to see how when ammo is properly stored how it stays in exceptional condition. Can't wait to shoot this stuff in a couple of weeks - finally checked the bolt gap in my c308 and it's perfect and ready for the range.
