Default Building a 104CR

having my barrel cut down to 12.5 inches then pinning and welding a 4.75 inch muzzle device which one would you choose CNC Warrior extended 4 Piece brake or the KVAR Muzzle booster

Or yield can go this route, cut the barrel move the front sight close to the gas block and pin and weld.

4 piece is better for cleaning if shooting corrosive. If not I like the look of the extended booster.

Pretty much, or sending it off every year to a gunsmith to have the device removed and cleaned.

CNC warrior . Get the combo gas block and leave the barrel underneath the brake. Then you don’t have to cut the barrel.

The K-var one is made to cover the barrel that sticks out beyond the front sight/GB on one with 16" barrel. No need to cut down the barrel and pin or weld a brake on.

I’d cut the barrel for sure so it at least sounds and feels a little different. Also if shtf you could always pop the weld and have the desired length.

Chris Butler at ak usa for the win. he makes the kvar one op has listed but is fully functional... Kvars extended MB is FAUX, and offers no performance benefits at all.

If you plan to SBR your 104CR, then don’t waste your money on those extended booster/FH. Just wait for the tax stamp and save your money.

Yeah, but good luck finding one—I was looking a while back and couldn’t and got no response from him when I emailed.

I like one I installed on my 106cr better than huge KVar one. You could search for them here: http://www.akfiles.com/forums/showth...t=ctrax&page=4

If you must pin, run the 4pc.

It's heavier, but you can clean it out when removing the end cap and cone.

You'd also have access to the end of the barrel/crown.

Well, I'll be starting my SLR104CR clone build next week... Since I'll be SBR'n it, I'll just leave the excess barrel until I get the stamp approved. Once approved, I'll chop chop the barrel.

I'd go with whatever is the lightest. whats the point of a CR if your going to weigh down the front end anyway...And I'd definitely cut the barrel.
