It probably is a scam, but you never know. Some people buy things cause they think there cool. And don't realize how much things increase in price and only want their $ back..Them NON AK people....I bought a MAK from a guy for $300 and he thought he was screwing me...Ignorance is blisss.

I bought my SGL31-84 for $1025 in 2010. I've shoot countless rounds in it.

Didn't know they are selling for a higher price now.

I never thought I'd see the day a WASR 10/63 would sale for more than the 400.00 I paid for mine but I see them going at around 800.00 for the 10/63 I knew saigas would go up and didn't buy,I knew VEPR would go so I bought the VEPR 12 I wanted at a good price 700 and next to come will be the bulgarians so I bought a 104ur for 1k and a 106cr at 900. Paying 1k for an AK is my threshold I'm not a collector I shoot all of my guns except 2 that sit my norinco factory 26 sks with tickler and an old pump action 22 that fires 22LR and short. Some will pay premiums I never thought SCAR prices but there there would I spend that much on an AK no would I spend that much to own a SCAR that's a hell no. To each there own were a constitutional republic and free men were all guilty of spending to much for something or the other.

Bought to have something cheap to shoot. Paid $799.00 from Atlantic. Now it's an investment I don't want to shoot

Nah I'd shoot it....I personally wouldn't advise treating guns primarily as investments, thats more of an added bonus 2ndary thing. You don't wanna buy stuff thats a complete loss and worth nothing, but I personally wouldn't have stuff solely to make money on it later, I'd enjoy it to its fullest extent.

Russian AK-74 Arsenal Saiga Legion 5.45 x39 folder

This is insane. Unless you are collector. But as a simple user, for shooting only, this is insane. I don't blame the seller. But if you are buying rifle for shooting and paying this price, then you are fkn retarded!

Full Saiga sporter conversions, including buying all the original AK-103 parts and all the shop work, become more and more financially viable every day, hehe.

I mean you gotta be able to separate a dick measuring contest to somethings actual worth. Now if you see 5 or 6 other sgl side folders go for the same price then ok, but these one off things should be taken with a grain of salt.

I guess I could rationalize a collector paying a large premium for the 'factory' folder. If you want practicality, the -68 solid stock and or the SLR-104, is a much better option.

Price is set by supply and demand. True, a few auctions do not set market price. When a spike unfolds in the market all of the owners of the folders will use this auction lot, as the new benchmark price. The 'other' factory-built AK's (5.45) will also be pulled along and increase in price, to some degree - if the 'factory' folder substantially increases in price.

None of these are factory folders.. They were Fime / Arsenal finished guns. The Only Russian factory folders ever imported were Legion MK-101 that were true 100 series guns and there were only 10 of them. Just like the 5.56 factory folder RPK that IO imported they should get a premium..

At those prices, it's a play on collectibility and believing Russian sanctions are here to stay. No one paying those prices are using them as shooters.

Sadly even I have pause shooting my SGLs. Then I remember I'll die someday, and the guilty feeling fades!

Russian sanctions will go away and we’ll get all of this stuff back and more. Just a matter of time. Could be awhile though.

I wouldn't count on it. How often has something like that that's been taken away, been given back? I'd look for Russian ammo to be sanctioned in the near future.

Fuck if I know.. No one has ever put one up for sale. I know two other people who bought them and only 10 made it in. Other interesting thing is the markings were stripped in russian and it just says made by ARMS in russia. Gun still carries the Legion production line markings. There 100 more of them that customs seized but those will never be given the green light. As for the 5.56 folder RPK those would be at least 2500+. Legion USA imported some odd ducks that are rare factory configs.

Saiga MK - Mine is the older russian market version, so no bay or launcher lug. I have the correct parts to convert it. Though mine does not have the mech to disable the gun from firing when the stock is folded. I do how ever have the very nice factory trigger.

https://kalashnikov.com/en/product/f...ga_mk_223.html

this is what the rpk looked like, snagged the photo from another member

Then you have this craziness:

https://www.gunbroker.com/item/776470502

Looks like they had one NR shill bidder cranking up the price. The "buyer" was probably the seller's other account, used to set the "new" normal for a SAIGA sporter... "See, SAIGA sporters are now selling for $1500!!1!"

Speaking of absurdity, since when did romanian AES RPKs reach RPK-74 prices?

Or this seller is just retarded?

How long has the chinese rifles been banned? Almost 25 years? Probably a good indicator of how the russian arms bann will be.
