Default SGL41-64 Saiga .410 info

I recently impulse bought a SGL41 off of gunbroker. Iíve always thought they looked neat and for no more than it was I figured it was worth a shot. I also ordered a 15rd Russian magazine to use with it since I understand most of the US mags donít work well. Other than needing to shoot 3 inch shells do these guns have any weird quirks? I donít see much practical use in it but I figure itíll be neat if nothing else.

You can shoot shells shorter than 3". The 2 3/4 and 3" mags are different. 2 3/4 will not reliability feed off 3" mags. The mags you ordered will likely be 2 3/4 mags. Most aftermarket mags are. I have heard the Promag mags work fine which is what I'll be trying in mine once I get around to it and stop buying 20ga Saiga mags.

I've always been interested in these. A semi auto .410 is neat

They are quite fun. I need some mags then I'll be running mine in 3 gun from time to time.

Even the russian mags are 2.75 mags? I assumed they would be 3 inch mags. Below is the mag I just ordered, hopefully it works properly seeing as how it cost an arm and a leg lol.

I believe those 15 rounders are Russian aftermarket magazines.
(I saw that on GB wish I would have bought it - they are kind of rare).

They will work just fine if they are made by the same maker as the Russian 10 round counter mags.

The only Izhmash factory mags that I am aware of are:

3” 4 round
3” 2 round in a 4 round body
These both look exactly the same.

3” 10 round

2.5” 4 round

Thanks, I tried to read the maker on the auction of the mags but it was blurry. I only want one good reliable 10/15rd 3 inch mag. I donít care about having a ton of mags for this gun.

You will want to pick up a couple of the 2.5” Mags just so you have the option.

Skott is correct, they are 2.5" not 2 3/4 like I said. I was thinking 20ga which also does 2 different mags.

Do you know what size shell the Russian aftermarket 10/15 rounders accept? thanks

I know that the 10 round window/counter mags take 3” shells.
I’ve never tried it with 2.5” - I’ll compare the feed lips and follower to the factory 2.5” and see if there is a difference.

I cannot verify the 15 rounder. I’ve never had one. OP will have to answer that.
