That does not appear to be Romanian. It looks like a large hole FCG. That would be a sleeved trigger etc. Bulgarian AK74 type or?

The AK is designed to have a safety sear....that's what's supposed to hold the hammer down (lower than semi) during cycling....semi auto causes most of the problems with the action hanging up when limp wristing the action.

Unlike 3rd world countries where children use full auto weapons all the time. We here can't be trusted with such unimaginable power.

If you don't like it hanging up then you can profile the hammer edge where the carrier makes contact with the hammer edge.

The sear does hold the hammer farther down on the forward stroke of the bolt, but on the rearward stroke, the bolt carrier still has to depress the hammer the same amount.

The sear won't affect the, "smoothness" (whatever that is) on the rearward stroke.

I think they are talking about, "smoothing" the movement here, not necessarily the forward hanging or dragging some US-made hammers and triggers experience.

Wrong. It is the large hole though More than a few of my surplus non-g and g Romanian numbers matching kits came with this style of setup. A couple even have the matching serial engraved in the trigger sear as well(last few digits or whatever). I have questioned it until I saw the numbers. I hate them. I always throw them out. In sure bulgy did those too but I'm positive the ones I'm referring to are Romy. Plus since Romania is selling nos ones to black horse and apex and whoever.

I have some fairly late G kits and no big holes or sleeves.

The AIMS-74 does though and the receiver is dimpled for the larger trigger parts.

The later kits has really bad machining on their fcg parts. So damn gritty. That's another reason why I chuck them.
