Just call your pal Mr Trump and have him reverse Clinton's EO ban. Until that is done, no SVD for you!

Haha, a ragtop Chevelle with a rear facing PSL mounted to the trunk would be sweet.

No love for most of factory ammo (3MOA)
But with S&B 174gr and 180gr it groups good.

This 1967's SVD was $4K when bought.
Tigr's we're now working on were just $900 - so for us it's just like cheap AR system in US.

Currently we're building 15.7" Tigr's in our chassis - just to allow guys to shoot heavy metal matches.

PS
for example when we've made shorty Mosins - everyone said it's insane to drop money to $150 rifle but we just like what we do - http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2...mosin-surgery/
" Tigr's we're now working on were just $900 - so for us it's just like cheap AR system in US."
Telling Y'All ....I saw SVD ads way back in mid-late 90s in Shotgun news/Gunlist , Rifle, mags, pouch,, tool /cleaning Kit scope, $900 7.62X54R
remember saying " WTF am I going to do with it,can't find ammo"
{This was before I wised up, saw the light ,realized AK & related weapons
were the gems they are}
I remember seeing racks of brand new imported AKs $125 thinking same -no ammo
If only .........................

OP cool project but the SVD is a "Grail gun " here you know how many guys probably "vapor locked" when they saw this

please help me understand the bottom line here.
what has actually been accomplished by doing these modifications ?
is the rifle more reliable, is it more accurate or more durable ?
has anything about it's function, weight, ergos, balance, or battery of arms been improved in any way whatsoever ?

or is it a mistake to assume improvement was a goal ?

The goal was to make stable optics platform And Freefloat the barrel.at the same time. Plus improve ergonomics of the rifle to allow user to fit the rifle for himself.

Mechanically chassis has 2-arch construction which makes optics Base more rigid than Just sidemount.

You can read description of the chassis in the corresponding Patent:
https://patents.google.com/patent/RU2628423C2/en

ok, the goals as stated seem legit
I will withold the judgement on whether they have been achieved just yet and at what cost (other than monetary)
specially since the ergos are an individual thing
but one thing strikes me right away as not right
that picture of a 308 shorty in camo above
TA33-C-400136 type acog lists eye relief at 1.9 in. / 48.3mm
with the stock already collapsed all the way there is no way to get there
and not even close...

just how long is your neck ?

TA33 do have a longer eye relief than stated on Trijicon web site - It's almost the same as TA11 - 2.5-2.7"

Here is the comparison of eye relief of
TA31, TA33, TA11 and TA44 on the same. Rifle with the same LOP:

well, thanks for that. sucks that the eye relief specs are not correct than. I have not had an opportunity to use a 3 power acog. My neck must be shorter and I 'm not sure if it'd be comfy leaned that much into it, I'd probably need a bit of a cantilever extension for that extra 1 or 2 inches or use a different optic. too bad you're using a different rifle in the pictures. The svd rail does seem to end rather abruptly in the rear also preventing effective use of a rear peep sight. Would any more length prevent opening the rear/top cover? Did you consider a short piece of rail built into/on top of the stock adapter for a rear iron peep site at the right height or for allowing bridging the gap over the rear cover with a riser or picatinny extension of sorts ?

In the show related to the FSB Sniper Traning program.

So, i have a question about your "SVD AR PISTOL GRIP AND BUFFER TUBE ADAPTER". Do you make a version that has the AR retainer plate hole in the rear? On a standard ar receiver they have a secondary indention in the bottom to accept this retainer plate. If i were to want to use the Magpul PRS stock with this it would need that secondary mounting location to lock into place.
