Default What's your favorite sling you've ran on your Ak?

Just wondering what everyone's favorite sling was to slap on their rifle, whether it's just a surplus sling or a vickers tactical tell us what you're running.

Surplus. No reason to run an expensive sling for me. I'm not that high speed.

Magpul MS3 is working out very well for me. I love the slider that lets you adjust the length on the fly and the ability to go 2 point or single point in seconds. Very well made. Got mine on a Christmas special for $40 shipped. Genuine Magpul too, not a fake.

Russian Dolg M3 tactical sling. Super comfy and convenient. Pricey at 50 bones, but considerng another one for one of my other AKs I like it so much. I have a Vickers also and it's also pretty good but not nearly as comfy and slick as the Dolg M3. The rest all have surplus.

Another vote for the Magpul MS3, I'm a huge fan of the ability to go from two to one point. Also the quick adjust is gold; once you've worked with quick adjust slings you'll never go back in my opinion.

VTAC padded sling here. simple, effective, and sturdy. I've been able to buy them used for under $30.

I've run single point, three point, and two point, and while a person can be proficient using any of them, I really like the VTAC for easy weapon retention, the padded portion of the sling and being able to readily adjust the length of the sling to account for gear/armor/or running slick.

Surplus OD and mjstard nylon slings.

I have a RPK double hook sling on my RPK-74M for the sake of correctness. The shoulder pad is nice, but the second D ring and hook are very light weight. It leaves a lot to be desired. For this reason I usually run it as a single hook.

I've been partial to the elk head Russian slings. The vickers sling was ok but not worth the extra money in my opinion

I mostly like surplus- but some rifle configurations (AKs) don't allow for the sling to be quite long enough when on the mounting points even when extended as much as possible..

in that case I opt for a cheapo tacti-cool made by FreForce (fire force) $10 on MAMazon https://www.amazon.com/Point-Tactica...ireforce+sling

& its Made in USA, pretty sturdy, clips are a little bulky but not cheaply made.

My Russian navy slings, very thick and sturdy, and a nice blue-gray color instead of the typical OD green.

I love the 74u slings for my smaller guns. I did notice the thinner width made it slightly less comfortable when hiking last weekend though. We were jumping up and down rocks and slipping in the snow so maybe that added to the discomfort. Not a huge deal, but I might swith out the sling when hiking more.

On rifles I like my vtac alright. I need to try the magpul that I got my brother in law to see if I'm missing something.

I used to be all about combloc slings but I have a couple of issues with them.

1. Being a big guy they are not always long enough. I like the E. German the best since they are longer than most.

2. No ability to quickly go from single point to double point.

3. No ability to quickly remove the sling if needed.

4. No ability to quickly adjust the length for comfort, different carry positions, different user, etc....

The Magpul solves all these issues. I do wish Magpul made an all steel version of their slings. I am quite impressed with their plastic but it's still....plastic. Seems very robust though.

Here's a couple of shots of the Russian DOLG M3 for those who haven't seen one. As you can see the pad on the sling is super thick and makes it super comfy. This is a great sling for someone who goes hiking with their rifle or has actual use for a sling. I like how you can keep the rifle really tight on your body and then quickly pull out some slack to bring the rifle into action.

Blue Force Gear VCAS is my favorite. I’ve tried the Viking Tactics, the DOLG M3, the Sheriff of Baghdad, combloc and seatbelt type. VCAS are on all my guns.

@corruptgarage BBS RS or stock Bimmer wheels?

Those are Enkei model 92s, and the car is a 1994 Miata. It's an M.Editon but those didn't get the factory BBS wheels till the year after, with the Merlot color.
