@bushman,

Yes. It is simple. I know what your talking about with the m-4 pouch sized Medkit. I honk it is from tactical Taylor and it fits a M4 double pouch. Let me tell you from my experience, the stuff that is really usefull and what you will want will not all for in that. I have a “barebones” trauma supplies on my bags, and it takes 3 m4 elastic pouches.

It’s basically a gunshot wound kit. But can serve other bleeding emergencies. I keep in each rifle bag...

Airway - 1 ARS needle, 1 twin pack hyfin vented chest seal, 1 NPA w/ lube
Bleeding - 1 H&H compressed “H” bandage, 1 compressed gauze
Circulation - 2 15 gram Celox powders, 1 SWAT T tourniquet

That takes 3 M4 elastic pouches from blue force gear; and it’s tight.

lol some of you expect to be caught in the middle of a HEAT heist......

I use a tennis bag to transport my firearms. I wish there were truly legit discreet range transport bags that weren't stupid overpriced. Using that shit in the winter time obviously raises a lot of questions because I'm not going to play tennis.

I just have my el cheapo ar pistol w/brace in a racket bag and a few magazines. Would be a shame if someone stole one of my AKs. Racket bag can't be seen from looking in the windows anyway its mainly just to transport from house to car discretely. Around here people will break your window for some pocket change, its ridiculous.

Seems likely.

Judging from FickenChucker's pic.

If you measured OAL from the butt of the pistol grip to end of the booster or muzzle brake you'd have real close to 20".

Wiki was saying something like 19.3, but I like to round up in these situations to allow space to actually get the gun out.

The pics are scaled down to a Nalioth friendly size, as such the tape isn't easy to read. In the full resolution pic it reads 19 3/8" with booster and 17" without.

I don't have a folder on my arm brace yet. I just ran a pistol rear trunnion with a buffer tube adapter.

Do you want me to get some dims off the barrel bag for you?

Oh and numrich had some good deals on 4 cell pouches. I picked up some east german pouches for around $4 each. They are pretty grungy, but I can clean them a little. I found a stripper guide in one and a blank fire device in another. That's what's cool about used surplus is you find little extras in there sometime. They also had some cheap slings for around $4 so I picked up some of those to make the 4 cells into shoulder bags.

I`d love if you threw a tape on a barrel bag, thank you!

A long time ago I was browsing a different forum (Don`t think I`m active there anymore) and someone had bought a surplus Hungarian mag pouch. In one compartment he found some ultra-rare Eastern Bloc battery, I think it was 9.7 volt or something weird, something like that. Surplus rules.

28" long, 9.5" wide at the widest part, and that widest part starts to taper down at about 12".

My m85 with sob arm brace fits barely or barely doesn't fit with no mag attached and no muzzle device. My 74u bastard fits with no folder, no mag, but with a muzzle device. I think my 74 rifle(standard 16" length barrel) fit with no muzzle device and a zhukov folded.

these are on sale, basically a little shoulder strap go bag with mag pouches on the side, but the price is right and you could literally carry everything you need and throw it over your shoulder.

I must say my readiness is a bit lacking right now, was alot more active minded when I lived in OK. The metro would be shtf nigtmare btw.

Hows this? Its a start

I swapped out the green bag for my other durable duffle bag. Chest rig and fanny pack, on in two clicks.

M85np will stand in for the 5.45 pistol for a while

AR 30's are about as long as 7.62x39 tankers. The Hungarian 3 cell fits em. Flashwilcox could improve upon this idea

My e93 light mount i bought should go well. There's potential here

Bonus: Horse sent me this...

Thx man. Well the bag is just the begining. I need a better med kit for one, my basic kit is for hiking and lacks things like quick clot or a tourniquet.

My chest rig has means for fire. Inthe mag poches a knife. Small binos usually a gatorade bit could swuueze 2-4 extra mags in. Some other hiking stuff. The fanny pack has extra batteries for the surefire. I keep the g2x and the vltor mount in there also. Plus my gerber, a headlamp, sharpie and an old starbucks gift card. I keep my ear defenders clipped on but need foamies ir rather some electronic muffs.

My hiking/3 day bug out bag is usually in the car. I sometimes use the yugo day bag instead.

Im not really sure of the threat Ive been in active shooter situations (false alarm on campus) was helpless shetering in place it sucked. Having a go bag/gun with 200 rds seems like a good thing to have.

A look at some of the basics.

Need to get around to getting a few things, pack some more food, a small prybar or earthquake tool. Extra power for phone etc.

The scenerio I imagine the most, the most threating to me, is hearing about some kind of attack shooting at the school. I have 2 little ones in 1st and kindergarten. Im about 5 min away doing the speed limit...

Theres this idea going through my head, imagining taking on a church shooter type amd being taken by mistake. A polizia vest seems like a safty precaution. Would a police vest with "militia" be a good idea? Haha no but in a crazy situation ones safety is not a priority. The closest Ive come to feeling that is being one of a few first responders when a dual fuel/oil tanker crashed and rolled in front and remember looking back at my family as I ran up on it imagining it exploding. The truck was upside down and we had to pry the door with several guys with a shovel to get him out.

I imagine combat is even crazier staying rational and calm. I have a wife and 4 kids and would have zero qualms doing anything to protect them. Getting back into a preparedness mindset is my goal.

@ BE nice with the life straw, I used to use those until I found smart straw compacts. Their 25$, about 3.5”, and rates to last longer and filter more. I’m a ultra lite camper/hiker though, so size and weight is everything.

I understand man. In a active shooter situation, if you did have the ability to “grab and go” or be a responder, the key is to not have all your stuff look like some sort of commando. My plate carrier is slick and has Velcro sections in front and back. I keep a neon yellow banner in a plate carrier pocket that says “responder”. So, if I ever did have to put it on and grab my “black bag” with ammo and medical supplies, I don’t look like seal team 6 wannabe. I have a normal looking bag, and armor that is highly visible and screams “I want to be seen!” If police say don’t bring a gun. I drop it and can help with my medical supplies.

I also have a wife and kid. Wife has a very visible plate carrier if needed, and we have a backpack for us and a pack pack for the kiddo with everything we need for a week in the road if we need to evacuate fast.

My philosophy is, I’m not a soldier, I don’t want to look like one. If I need billets and a gun, I have it and can use it. Everything else, look like a prepared
Citizen. Nothing more.

Yeah these are neat but not necessarily needed for immediate threat response.

I was more trying to gear the thread around a vehicle attack or multiple attackers or one attacker with long guns.

Because in those two situations pistols usually are not the best choices or pistol calibers.

As far as my submission, that is what it would be used for. A rifle with a bag with extra magazines and traumatic (likely gunshot wound) medical equipment.

I keep all my equipment together. If I need the rifle, I can grab the plate carrier and "go bag"/"threat bag" at the same time. Takes about 10 seconds to put the plate carrier on, throw the bag over my shoulder, grab a rifle and go. - Of course that is all worse case scenario.

So after reading thru this thread I bought a backpack today and will work on stocking this thing up with needed items. It's a start but more to come. Backpack just fits my Evo, will assemble another with a more high power rifle with more of a serious SHTF situation in mind. This setup will be light and can sit in my office and take up minimal space making no noise when I put it on or set it down. Thinking about attaching a waterbottle holder and some patches on it to make me look like a peace loving liberal to break up the look a little. The way I think I want to look like the more avg Joe you will run into on the streets of the PNW as backpacks are a normal wearing item.

A bit more "Tactical" than most leftists tend to stray, but considering the growing popularity of .mil or aesthetically similar products amongst the enemy, it`d be a fool who ignores that advantage. I`m partial to the old Finnish demolitions toolbag myself, but I tend to prefer a backpack nonetheless.

Completely get it, bottom line for me is if you can't see in it you never know what's in it. Sometimes us firearms loving peeps tend to overthink everything concerning hiding our firepower. Once I put a starbucks/save the forests/ make love not war patches and a coffee /water bottle holder on it I will look like your typical tree hugging seattle liberal what wouldn't even think of carrying that much firepower in my backpack. Your setup is super inconspicuous tho.

LOL
Bad Element is the only guy that posted a way to wipe his ass if he needs to so he wns IMO.

I have a few way to go but the one that rides in the car with me a lot is a standard brief case with a 7.5" AR pistol with optics light and 4 mags .
Yea its broken down but I can literally have it pinned together in 10 seconds .
No its not at the ready but I have hand guns often when I travel .

I have fun at the range walking up to the 100 yard line and opeong up the case .
its right at 3/4" moa right now and im still working on loads .

I need to get pics figured out .

a lot of nice set ups posted here .

I don't get much into stuff like that but hey it needs to be in a case any way might as well have other stuff as well .

I only really carry the demo bag if I feel the need to roll heavy. Otherwise it`s usually a simple daypack (By Platypus of Seattle, of all things). If there`s one thing Seattle does right, it`s outdoors stuff.
