There we have it.

The stapled packages is what we tested , C-01-16, and the second batch of ammo I purchased from SG ammo.

The first case I ordered and shot was the newer C-04-16 with paper in between the cartridges. It felt hotter than the wolf mil spec.

I think we may need to revisit the GT and see if it is indeed different between the two different packages.

Were both C-01-16 and C-04-16 purchased from SG Ammo I assume (since I haven't seen anyone else stock it)?

Guess it just depends whether they had paper dividers in stock that week or had wrapping available.

I wish I was going for certain, but I have a 2nd child on the way and it's due right at the tail end of June.

I'm kind of playing it by ear.

Can we sticky this thingy somewhere? I just wasted nearly two hours searching for this thread.
Has anyone done any testing with 12.5" barrels?

Nobody had a 12.5 ready. Chknfkr may get his stamp back one day and then we'll have a sample to do more testing with.

So is 90% of akfiles

Do you have ability to change name of the thread? To something like 5.45 ammo test/data, or similar, more search friendly. So much great information here, but it was a pita to find this thread.

Ill donate ammo and 12.5 rifle if anyone is in N FL with chrono.

Man many of the 5.45 FPS I might as well be sticking to 7.62x39. I do have a Vepr 20.5 that can at least get 2700 FPS out of the rest of the crap ammo. 7n6 really is the best.

I wouldn't. Even if you can get the same FPS from 7.62x39 it is going to start dropping after 100 yards & at 200 yards the drop is significant. I've gotten rid of my two 7.62x39 rifles. If you want to walk around with a rangefinder around your neck go for it. I'll stick with ‎5.45×39mm or a cartridge with same or better ballistics.

If you guys ever want to test 5.45×39mm hollow point ammo let me know. I can donate some.
