And it can be yours for a mere $70,000

I'm glad that there are sub $200 shotguns for the rest of us.

I do think its kind of "gay" devoting so much time to a shotgun that only a rich yuppie is gonna use.

This morning on How It's Made, one of the items produced was a "collectible firearm". In reality it was a Holland & Holland double barrel, and it was amazing to watch it being constructed. Imagine this video stretched out to about 10 minutes, and of course the How It's Made guy narrating the process.

Also, William and Son must be junk if they are "only" $70,000. The H&H this morning was 144,000 ($187,000). Of course a Purdy & Sons Signature can fetch $250,000.

As for me, I love the craftsmanship that goes into these guns. Are they worth the price they command? Probably not, and lord knows I'm not in a position to shell out even 1/10th of that on a gun. But it doesn't make them any less beautiful to me. When I hit the lottery and get my Purdy signature, I'll let you guys all come take turns with it. Maybe I'll even run it in a 3 Gun

Most of the hand fitting could be matched with a stiff cnc mill and top grade carbide.. The rest is just pretty frills. All the time spent hand fitting and soldering the barrels could cut by gun drilling two bores in a block of metal and then milling the outside off to match. Soldering is not that great anyway.. But people love dated technology.
