Default Want something cool and fun for the range. Ideas?

I got AR's and AK's and a .308 battle rifle. Got some pistols, a shotgun and a bolt action. Now I want something that is just cool and fun to shoot. A rifle not a pistol. Thoughts?

Sten are easy builds and fun, so are Uzis and Soumi's. You want to drop the coin get an MP5 clone. You want a cheap plinker build a accurate .22lr. Want a "sniper" style find a PSL, loved mine. The options are endless but I have no idea of your capabilities with finances/range/old lady/etc.

Shockwave shotgun is cool for a range blaster

Full autos or anything NFA is pretty cool ..Get a 40mm for 1k...

Really any "ghetto " gun would be fun ..Desert eagle , hand cannon wheel gun ,open bolt pistols like MAK10

DP 12 shotgun.

I got one, and it's BY FAR my favorite hobby shotgun.
I won't even look at a VEPR , or SAIGA 12 after owning one of these. Blows them away.

16 rounds, or 32 mini's and zero mags to have to worry about

A RPK would be fun to have, I think ( even if only semi-auto )

MP5 clone with brace. Ever since I put a brace in my MP5K pistol it’s been one every range trip since. It’ll burn through ammo even though it’s semi-auto. You can take a chance and wait out PSA’s upcoming clone. Supposed to be “significantly cheaper” than it’s competition.

You should get a bren 805 pistol with a sig brace. I have one and love it. Or a DDMK18 pistol with a brace.

Try a pistol caliber carbine. That new Ruger looks like it would be fun.

Your budget is going to determine just how cool you can get. Maybe get a PSL or a an SVT. Another option is you want to get something different that isn't a rifle is to get a trench gun.

My first thought was if you don't have an M1 Garand, you might want to consider picking one up. They are really fun to shoot, as well as being a piece of history (which is true with most all the military surplus guns).

AR9 pistol with brace, Tac14 870 or Mossy Shockwave, or an old school milsurp like a mauser or k31.

Hard to go wrong with a Ruger 10/22. Endless mods and cheap in comparison to most guns. Cheap to shoot too.

1919 A4, you can build them somewhat reasonable, or any belt-fed for that matter, load up with some tracers, (if you have a place to shoot them)
Its just fun....

Second these votes.

Add a .303 Enfield, K31 Swiss, a K98 Mauser, and a 1903A3 Springfield.

Milsurps are TONS of fun to shoot. If you've been shooting AR's and AK's you lose an appreciation for a full power battle rifle cartridge. Especially when shooting steel - the full power rounds make those steel targets "ring and swing".

Great ideas so far guys. Budget is a little flexible just nothing outrageous. I'd say maybe $700 for the gun itself give or take. Right now the 2 that stick out are the crazy ass shotgun Aces high posted and also the Kel-Tec sub 2000 has always been something I liked. I already own Glock 9mm mags and would be ready to go right out the box. Also the SU 16-c is an option. The Mossberg Shockwave is also in play for the fact I already want one anyway for actual use as a Trunk gun to take the place of my current Trunk gun IAC Hawk 982.

SU-16C? Yeah, I dig the SUs. Fun guns when they were cheaper than AR15s.

What they had going for them was light weight. The Bravo model would probably be best as it has the lightest barrel. I have an Alpha and a Charlie.

If they made it with a stamped steel receiver, it would be a real winner. AK type gas system, AR like bolt and magazine.
