Default Anyone interested in m1969 Romanian.22lr mags?

So with the new annoying sanctions on vepr rifles.. I'm looking at my list of things I want to build again.

I'm pretty sure these would be pretty easy. Anyone want them? They are tiny so the should be about $20.

Lots of folks would be interested if you can make ones that work. Once the supply of originals ran out, the aftermarket ones gained a bad rep of failing to feed.

Ok so a fair amount of interest on a board that is not really .22 centric.. Cool.

I've wanted to do smaller magazines for some time. The idea of a product that can be shipped 10 at a time in a bubble mailer is very appealing.

Rimfirecentral is the place ya wanna advertise these if you make them, lots of folks over there own them and it is the go-to place for info on anything .22.

If the price point remains reasonable, and they prove reliable, I think they would sell at a rate to prove profitable.
I know I would be interested in several.
And as has already been mentioned, rimfirecentral.com should be a hotbed of interest. -
Best of luck and we'll be here waiting patiently. -

Ok couple ideas.

Possibly using a retaining plate to allow the magazine floorplate to be less difficult to remove. Retaining plate take down button could be sized to allow for a key ring to be threaded through to prevent loss.

Any interest in a 10 round? Would follower pull tabs be desirable? That way you could pull the follower down to allow easy loading rather than having to fight the spring.

I have some of the originals coming in, they are made differently than the replacements from taiwan having spot welds up the back instead of seam welds.. We may replicate this since we don't currently have seam welding machines.

Higher capacity is definitely a plus, the originals are not that hard to load so a tab is not that big a selling point. Unless your springs are significantly stiffer. "Dummy cord" ring would be a selling point, a friend has one he used to use raccoon hunting, the magazine is somewhere in the forest around the local reservoir and he now has a single shot rifle...

A lanyard on one of these mags would be a nice little feature, so the floorplate taking a keyring is a nice idea.

I'm in for 10 rounders.

I would be interested too, beats modifying the E-German mags.

Just wanted to show the first stamping. Looks to need a few adjustments but at least we are on the right track.

Looks good to me. But then I don't manufacture magazines, so what would I know? -
Thanks for the update, and by all means keep us posted.
Once the details are worked out these become available, they should definitely sell.
I know I'll be in for a few. -

It is just a few of the dimensions are off a little here and there. Nothing you can see in the photos when you try to use the mag it is more apparent.. And a few of the corners need to be rounded. Basically trivial stuff.

These will not be stamped with any markings, the thing that will mark them is there are veiw holes on both sides which is different from the factory and Taiwan mags.

I may buy one. I've got a nice m1969 with a 1989 date stamp with two 5-round mags myself but I'd always want a couple more if for the right price.

Third set of dies is done. Took a few trys to get it zeroed.. Thankfully the tooling is all tiny so the blocks of metal are like $5 each not $65 and it takes 30 minutes to mill instead of 8-10 hours. So these are going pretty fast.

I kinda like making these little magazines. I can probably ship 20 of them in the same box that only holds 1 .308 magazine. There are a lot of nice aspects to making these.

From circle 10 Facebook page looks like it's time for a 5.56 ak mag from cssspecs

"We have received word that there will be no more imports of Bulgarian circle 10 5.56 mags for already a couple of years. Buy smar but be aware that the do
Ratio supply is currently limited"

I received mine (one) in the mail today.
First impression is extremely positive. I'm impressed with what Csspecs has put together here.
This mag is every bit as good as my original mag, and actually may be (probably is) even better.
I only ran fifty rounds through it, but it never offered any issues whatsoever.
It locks into the magwell just like my original, and feeds just as smooth (if not smoother) as the original mag.
Disassembly is fairly straightforward, and the spring, follower, and floorplate are all as well built as the mag body.
Since I don't shoot the trainer all that often, it's kinda low in the pecking order, but I will be getting one or two more as funds allow. .
But the lack of good replacement mags for these has been an issue for a long time, and Csspecs has put an end to that.
Thanks guys for a job well done.
