I don't think they are capable of creating this size in 4x.

There's a reason why 3x is bigger and 4x is even bigger. The higher magnification the bigger the optic, glass that's required for bigger magnification is thicker/bigger. then there's formula of eye relief etc.
I guess if someone tried to make one, it'll have an incredible narrow fov.

Much appreciated but they're all sold out now. PA apparently has placed another purchase order with Trijicon so there's more coming; just not sure when.

Anybody got good pics of the reticle beside the normal, circle dot TA44?

I don't have side by side pics but I'd imagine you could open both videos next to each other and pause it on the reticle shots...?

The more I think about this optic, the more perfect I think it is for an AUG. Trying to talk myself into one for an AK but see which rifle it ends up on. Definitely see one in the near future. Hope PA gets them back in stock soon.

I figured being a smaller optic that it'd be cheaper.. but 1k? Don't get me wrong, neat as hell. Just too expensive for my taste.. and I have expensive taste when it comes to guns.

Maybe grab one on secondary market when and if they are around $600.

***EDIT but after seeing them sold out, obviously someone is willing to pay 1k, so cannot blame them for pricing them at that!

You mention that the regular TA44 reticle can obscure the target.
Is it that bad?
I think I can pick up one for about $750, and I'm debating between it and an Aimpoint Micro, which I can get for $650.

Hey guys, I'm in the market for an ACOG (finally!) and I'm stuck between three of them
1-This one
2-TA31 ACSS
3-TA31 Horse shoe reticle

Do you treat the TA44 like a red dot or a lightly magnified scope when shooting it?

It is a red dot that will give you tiny bit more confidence out to 300m. Emphasis lays on word tiny, like itty-bitty.
For me It is not better, it is not worse. It is simply it... Cant think of anything to compare it to.

I purchased it for AKSU and P90. it serves its purpose very well on those rifles and fits my needs.

When i place it on full size rifles i cant stop to think few things:
This things is a waste of optic space. This thing is a waste of rifle potential. This thing can be easily and unquestionably replaced by much better options. If i only had one rifle, full size rifle, i would be very unhappy with this purchase.

Think twice before you place your order, and then think again.
If itch is resistible, wait a bit, i am confident they will start showing up on secondary market for ~$700 because someone didnt think it through.

Sounds like it would be a solid optic for a PSW/SBR for CQB with some distance support if needed to go further, but on my M4gery I should get a TA31 instead of the TA44?

The TA33 is worth considering too. I took one to CSAT on a SAM7SF. Paul Howe had us shooting to 300 yards. I didn't drop a single rifle shot on the Scrambler. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=INQpW-x2zIo

Something like that, but tbh holosun with acss does just as well. Plus i can attach magnifier to it if needed.

I dont know what you should get, i can only state my experience and opinion with what i have. In my experience and opinion TA44 is waste of a rifles potential.
For other Acogs its up to you to decide between magnifications/retticle patters.
I think 4x is too much, others do with it just fine. This is one of those things that you will have to try and decide for yourself.

I went with the TA31, I used them in the Army and fell in love with the system, got a green ACSS one on the way- what sold me was being able to use it for 5.56 and 5.45, plus ACSS is the shit

The holosun with magnifier would be a pretty affordable alternative for the TA44, I think that argument was mentioned when InRange reviewed the PA 2.5x ACSS prism optic as well, having an optic that has some magnification or is it better to have a red dot with magnifier?

Whats everyone experience with zeroing this thing?
Few days ago i spent about 4 mags on adjusting windage. Elevation adjustment is nice and precise, but with windage there is a lot of play in between clicks.
It seemed like after adjusting it needed about 30 rounds for reticle to move back and settle in somewhere in between clicks. Took me about two hours to make 1.5moa adjustment.

Can anyone get me a measurement from the top of the rail to the center of the optic with the low height version and the AD or MI mount?
Oh, can you co-witness with the TA44?

I'm considering a TA44 or TA33, for my SIG 551. TA44 is attractive for all the reasons you went over in the video. Let us know if you pick up a low version, I'd be curious what the clearance height is above the eyepiece on the Midwest Industries mount. This would be my first ACOG and it seems like the low base version could be a little more versatile.

ACOG's are magnified optics. You need a non magnified optic to be able to use iron sights in conjunction with the optic.
