I love the innovation, why not push it. Great thread and excellent work.

Love the beauty of the SVD, in wood or synthetic furniture. That and an Aston Martin DB5 would make me a content man. A Bizon would be nice too though.

Me too as I am curious about this set of modifications and excited about how much better it shoots than it did in it's old configuration.

Same round, same distance (100 meters), same shooter.

Rough estimate says the group sizes were cut in half or more (not counting the flier in the left 'after' pic).

Seems to be just the thing for DMR matches that put you in odd shooting positions and require you to apply pressure against many different points of the rifle.

Very cool to see the production run finished.

Are you guys receiving much attention in the multi-gun/DMR world over there based on the chassis and AR stock/grip adapters?

Hello
I'd say that we've got very positive attention over the concept and moderate attention over the price.
For us it means that we should increase batch run and bring price down to "mount + bipod adapter envelope"

And we have many requests to make the same kit which freefloats barrel to the AK/PSL platfom.

The main issue with AK/PSL platform is that owner would have to replace rear sight base completely. And honeslty i don't know if it's an "issue" or just "common thing" for US AK/PSL owners (since for Russia guys it's like space shuttle launch, not because of mechanics but because of legislation)

So the questions are:
1. Does anyone need kit which freefloats barrel on AK/PSL AND adds mil-1913-std non-removable optics rail at the same time?
2. Which price range it.should fall in?

Sincerely,
Val

The main thing stopping people in the US is the mechanics. I think most people would prefer something that bolted on instead of using presses. Case in point, I think the KOP is a great idea however I think alot of people don't want to tear their rifles apart to install it, hence why it's not as popular as it should be.

1. Freefloat on an AK is kind of an iffy call, mostly since the ammo most people use is the cheapest they can find. I imagine there would be somewhat of a market for a product like yours, but may be limited for the AK. PSL would probably be a bit more popular, but I'm not sure if they're all the rage these days anymore or not. Though again I imagine most PSL owners are just shooting cheap surplus ball ammo too.

2. Unfortunately for you it seems the majority of AK owners/hobbyists/whatever are rather cheap people (either because they're just cheap, or simply because they can't afford to spend any money). Too expensive and nothing would sell, but too cheap and you're working for free. Kinda hard to give a solid number.

Have to agree with Max; I can't see much of a market here for a free float system like this designed to mount on an AK or PSL.

While I reload 54R and will start on 7.62x39 once I get done shooting the case of PPU brass cased ammo I have, most who are in the Combloc gun game are shooting the cheapest stuff they can get their hands on for blasting.

About the only exception to this rule, in my opinion, is those who try different surplus 54R looking for tighter groups, but you're still seeing a market which is changing the easiest variable in order to gain whatever accuracy they can.

Probably the third or fourth time I've said it in this thread.....sexy.

What suppressor is that? Direct thread or do you have a mount in place on the threaded barrel?

Nice. Would love to put a suppressor on my Tigr. One of those adjustable gas blocks would be the ticket.

Interesting. I'm aware of an older/prototype suppressor that mounted over the long SVD flash hider and used the back of the bayonet lug as a place to use a set screw to stop it from coming off, but it was a flawed design as the small piece of metal that was rotated into place behind the bayo lug would bend after a few shots.

How does that suppressor lockdown to stop it from walking off the end of the barrel?

And I second the idea of wanting to run a suppressed Tiger or SVD. Anymore news on the adjustable gas block?

Any chance of this being able to be retrofitted to a Vepr?

We're in the middle of prototyping of freefloat kit for AK.
So it would fit the Vepr of course (since it won't touch stock-to-reciever xonnection point.

Thank you, Trotsky39.

Your next step really is to just build an SVD from bar stock, haha.

Interesting. Are you expecting better accuracy by connecting the mount into the rear sight base?

If you'll watch these hi-speed videos (not mine) you'll see how sight base jumps after the shot:

So we just adding force arch on the line of the recoil.

One of our client's provided pics of his build.
I'd say it is the cleanest install so far. Especially considering how he had cutted the top cover in place.

Well. Guys spent some time in indoor range.

0.6MOA 5-rounds group with Extra factory round.

I'd say the group is amazing for com-block semi rifle...
Even with our chassis installed.

I really hope your scope mounts will be available to us in the US. There is nothing comparable here that I'm aware of. I'd love to use it in a slow motion video test similar to this one:
