Default Any commie bakelite grips that are thicker/larger than others?

I love the look of these things, got one on a rifle right now, but damn I hate the feel of these tiny little bastages. They're about like holding onto a slippery plastic broom handle. I was wondering if anyone ever manufactured any that had larger dimensions than the typical Romy grips, or are they all pretty much identical?

There were a few Type 3 polymer & "bakelite" pistol grips made by Bulgaria & Poland before both went to the "popsicle stick" grip we know today.

Both are hard to find.

Well hell, thanks dude, that was good info, I had no idea.
BTW, when I noticed that I had a response, then saw that it was from you, I thought to myself, "oh great, here comes a big smackdown for asking a question that's been answered here a thousand times !"

How would you define "a little thicker"?

They kinda go over it here, I'm about 400 miles from home so I can't dig mine out. I can post a comparison some time next week.

Polish and RPK grips are popsicle sticks, just like any other AKM grips.

Care to be more specific?

I have a romanian grip or two that is a little thicker than all the others. Not alot but you can tell when your holding them. Also have an Egyptian blue which is oddly thin compared to standard grips.

PKM grips are thicker than AKM, and will fit. Similar in size to the bulgarian Type 3. Little bit straighter grip angle. Little pricy, they seem to hover between $35-60.

They even come in wonderful plum-

I hate those tiny manlet grips.
I also hate how aftermarket grips ruin the aesthetics.
Do russians have tiny hands?

I've always read that the shorter stocks on AK's were because the Russian peasants using them were small, but I once read that the smaller/shorter stock was actually to compensate for them likely wearing a heavy parka, which made sense to me.
It's possible this applies to the grips,as well. In their climate/region, they can often be expected to be wearing heavy gloves, so these tiny grips don't generally feel so tiny.

Rifle is fine.

People pay lots of money for grip reductions on their firearms these days.

Those look a helluva lot better than the ONE I found. OP Pm me if you want a source for the Bakelite fatties. I can't help you if you are looking for the Plum as I am looking for a NEW one myself. I'd pay a hundred ,or more, if I could fine one but I don't know any Russian armorers.

I'm on my phone and slightly busy so I can't look it up or post a link at the moment but I think Desert Fox Outfitters has the Bulgarian fat grips in stock... last I checked anyway.
