Default What is the most you would spend on a DDI AK47SF?

How much would you ever spend on the All-American made DDI AK-47SF? Brand new. Is it $500~ or is even one hard earn dollar too much?

Thanks for your opinions!

Hmmm.. Starting to see a trend here. I had a feeling people would respond this way. I just been toying with the idea that I could pick one up on the cheap and turn it into a poor man's ak104 look alike.

They're not that bad if you have all the possible spare parts needed at the ready. Oh, and account for those parts/possible labor when you buy it.

Or better yet, have the owner of the DDI rifle pay you to take it!

About as much as I would pay for any other AK these days... Nothing. Ive got the Arsenal version of the AK-104 ( a registered SBR SLR-107CR). To be honest, it doesnt do a thing for me anymore. If it didnt require me to have something welded on to take it off the NFA registry, or if I found an in state buyer with a stamp in hand... It would be sold for less than a new 104CR without a second thought.

DDI is a bottom of the barrel example of a bottom of the barrel rifle in my opinion. Worth its weight in scrap.

^^^^^

Your free to share your opinion but it dosen't really apply if your telling him youd pay nothing because you don't like AKs what does that tell him

Because he posted here and is interested in buying one then out of context it's safe to assume the OP does like AKs

$20, and including the hardware to converting it into a nice freestanding lamp.

Rather than getting a DDI and then putting money into parts to try and make it into an AK104...which in the end you will not be happy with the end result, I'd say either save up for an SLR107CR or sLR106CR (depending on caliber you like), or if saving really isn't possible, then get a Romanian 'Paratrooper'.
You could also get a Draco pistol or Lynx pistol and add a brace or SBR.

Finally, while its really not much like an AK104 except in overall size, there are a lot of great AMD65 builds out there, mainly the TGI FEG AMD. Full disclosure, i have gone on record several times saying that is one of my favorite AKs of all time.
So i know i am biast hehe. But its just so damn light, and mine has been 100% reliable over the years. That's not something most DDI owners report.

Personally, USA made AKs just don't interest me either. No shocker there, so again biast.
Just trying to be straight with you so you know where I am coming from, cheers.

Well it's definitely seems like the masses have spoken against even a cheap DDI rifle. Message is loud and clear, stay away. It looks like I'll probably be saving my pennies to one day hopefully purchasing a SLR107cr or 106cr, spotty reliability will probably lead me to the former there. The plan was to avoid the SBR route and pin and weld an extended 4 piece.

Never had the AMD 65 on my radar Mishaco but certainly an interesting alternative. Appreciate all the responses.

A DDI isn't totally useless. You could always use it as a door stop.

I'd pay top dollar - about $20, for a doorstop that happened to be a realistic nonfunctioning replica of an AK - such as the DDI at issue here.
