They say it's swap-able..... Not sure how.

For a LMG weight and length is more important (maneuvering) then hitting targets 500 yd + (old way of warfare-tactics).

It's hard to dump $1450 on unproven optic. That's just me.
Elcan on the other hand has proven track record and at least you know what you are buying. Also, very often you can snatch Elcan with discount which brings price into the $1800 range. Several distributors were running discount for military personnel, but also watch Midway because usually around Christmas time they put some killer promos and they do have a great relationship with Elcan.
Anyhow, fingers crossed for Wolf - if this optic will happen to be what they promise to be, then that's great for all of us and it actually may force Elcan to drop prices as well...

I'm a bit late to the party but I doubt that will ever happen. I am sure Elcan would be content selling only to the U.S. government.

Got mine a few day ago, have not taken it to the range yet..... maybe next Tuesday.
Overall, very solid, well built optic. As mentioned by OP, it balances very good on the rifle. Mounting is a hybrib or AD and LaRue. Very easy adjustable.
This one is definitely a keeper (as long as it stays intact). And as mentioned already, this optic shares almost nothing with Elcan (other then a throw lever and 1-4x)

Excellent reticle imo, very easy to pick up a target quick.

FYI guys I shipped mine back to Kalinka today for warranty work. There was a 12" difference in point of aim when shifting from 1x to 4x. I confirmed this from the bench using a lead sled and a perfectly stable rifle. The error was repeatable every time

Kalinka sent me an RMA the same day I reported the issue to them and said they would replace the scope ASAP

Will keep you posted

That's unfortunate....
I'll laser bore test it and take it out for a spin, hopefully tomorrow.
NM, it is a second focal plane scope after all.

Update:
Went out to the range right after work today (possible defect in optic as experienced by TX-Zen was on my mind so I couldn't wait till my days off to test it out).
I laser bore sighted it last night and made a few coarse adjustments at the range on my first few targets as it's not 100% bulls-eye just yet.
Very happy and quite impressed with the scope, no noticeable zero shift at all (as far as I can see). Spread is mainly due to my error if anything.
Obviously shooting at 4x is more accurate and that is how I zero it in. Still needs a few minor adjustments. To make it more concrete I shot two groups of 10 (20 total). Silver Bear 60gr.
I tried my best but I'm sure some of you can do better, but then again If shooting 5 groups I think 1MOA was there somewhere. I will definitely revisit this rifle and ammo as I'm actually quite impressed.

10 rounds @ 4X (100yd)

additional 10 rounds @ 1x

What's cool about this stock is that you can hold it like RPK stock to get the rifle rock solid stable (off bench rest or bipod).

I think it looks like your scope is dead on with no error in shift between 1 and 4x. I would say that the downward drift is consistent with 1x shooting. Never as easy as it looks to keep a tight group on 1x at 100 yards with any scope

Mine had a very large shift and was very noticeable. I think if you had a problem you would see a bigger difference in the groups you posted

Glad to see that 1: you shoot well, and 2: the optic seems to be working as expected. Even if there is a slight shift between 1 and 4x you'd get hits with those groups on any target that actually mattered

Thanks, I was thinking that there was a possibility of design defect, glad it's not the case.

I'm thinking on how can your scope had a defect from zooming in and out... The zoom throw lever only moves the front magnifier back and fourth and it's not connected to reticle or rear (turret) part. Wish NPZ/WOLF would have better manual on the scope like older Russian/Belarus optic, with schematics and all but I don't blame them in this age of copycats.

Good news guys

The PU 1-4 was replaced with a different scope and it seems like POA stays the same when flipping between 1 and 4x. I didn't confirm with live rounds but did use a lead sled and made sure the rifle was steady. If it's off it's only a little bit

Could still be an issue at 100 but seems less likely now. Stay tuned

Total turn around time was about 1 week. Kalinka was ontop of this for sure

Being a SFP scope it'll shift POI some, if it's more then 3-4" then its an issue.

Is your replacement have newer or older style reticle?

Something seems odd with that. That price is well below wholesale distributor price.

Considering that their PO4x24 and 6x36 are in line with normal retail, this just seems strange.

For $600 - it is a steal.

Not sure - could be they (NPZ) is dumping old stock, since they came up with
new ones - PO1/4 and PO1.5/6.
Similar to PSU, but you can choose any magnification between the two poits, not just direct switch between 1x and 4x.

I know that wholesale price on PSU is above $900 at current exchange rate.

That is odd..... For a second focal plane, in between 1'st and max is useless magnification as it's not accurate for BDC. If it's FFP then it would make sense to have those stops.
As for the price on PSU, I thought it was to good to be true for the price, so I thought it was a return or a defect product, after careful inspection and shooting I found no such thing, seems like a new optic to me and it also has newer style reticle.

Snagged one from the ammunition store for 599. Date of manufacture May 2015 according to manual. Box looked like it had seen moisture, but inside all was good and the manual sitting on top did not look like it had been wet. I have many scopes, including Elcan 1-4, 1.5-6 and Specter 3x. I have only looked through it off the porch and compared it to some similar optics. Range test hopefully this weekend if it doesn't rain.

Pros: The glass is outstanding, very clear and optic gathers light very well. The fov is awesome, similar to Elcan and better than most lpv scopes. I really like the reticule on 1x.

Cons: The illumination is very weak and dissapointing, nothing like an Elcan. It is not daylight bright, and would be useful in near dark conditions only. It's really unfair to compare it to the Specter DR, however because of the price difference. The horseshoe is a little big on 4x, wish mine had the thinner version like TexZen.

overall compared to the 3x(same price) I think its a better optic with better reticule, fov and eyebox. The eyebox on the Specter 3x is very limited, which is probably why it was discontinued. Compared to my PA 4x and 1-6x it does have a better fov and better glass, but I prefer the ACSS reticule. Time will tell if its worth the extra coin. Further review coming.
