Default NEW TURKISH STAINLESS HI POWER

As you may have heard FN BROWNING has ceased production of the legendary Hi Power. Tisas of Turkey is now producing The REGENT BR9, & BR9SS. The BR9 is a faithful black steel clone of the original high power. it is a coated finish, but surprisingly well made. It runs approximately $450. The price of a nice used FEG clone.
For $100. more ($550.) the Stainless version BR9SS , has just reached the USA with a shipment of 500. I've had mine about 2 weeks, removed the magazine safety & changed grips. It is incredibly well made & free of tool marks. It is really fine in all aspects & the best bargain I've got in a while.
functions with out hiccups & more accurate than me. The sights are NOVAK copies. 13 & 15 round mags included. FANTASTIC !

This website won't allow me to post my pix. lots to be seen of both models on the 1911 forum/hi power

Funny.

My pictures work.

Illiteracy and/or apathy - guess we'll have to ban those next, as they're discriminatory, too.

Unless the OP was able to get it somewhere else the only place I know to get it is directly from the importer/ distributor. My local dealer was only able to find them here so far. https://www.lkcillc.com/products/9mm/

Graham Bates on youtube has a table top review on the all black one. Seems to be pretty nice. But I'd rather have another arcus 92 or a kareen at $200 something less.

If they come in at the same price point the Turk CZ75 clones run at, then I may be interested, that would mean sub $350 range.

I refinished one. It was great. Hi-Power parts kit was a direct swap.
Stupid simple to detail strip that gun too.

A New Production Browning High Power?

Thanks to LKCI, LLC of Ohio and Tisas we now have an excellent modern production variant, the Regent BR9.

https://www.ammoland.com/2018/04/tis...#axzz5DJDbtoT7

Black Blade: Turk guns tend to be decent so this should be interesting ...

Hope these prove reliable with hollow points. I would love to have one. Most of the Turkish firearms seem to be of very high quality.

I own, & like my 2 FEG Clones. I like my stainless BR9SS Clone best. I think its made nicer than the FN or FM as well - NO TOOL MARKS or hiccups so far. The only other stainless HP being made is a $3k Elite Warrior.

You spend a lot of time complaining about prices. Sadly with even import marked Hi-Powers bringing $800+ now and surplus variants like the FEG drying up you can either pay $450-500 for this or get lucky and find a cheap legit hipower somewhere. Complaining/boycotting over price in hopes others join in and it gets the price lowered does not work when the dealer is making $20-30 profit and or the importer is making a niche item to meet a demand. If the demand goes away they simply make something else and then you're stuck paying top dollar for something else.

Everyone has a right to their opinion but $450 for a brand new hipower clone seems like a decent deal to me.

My Tisas 1911A1 is fantastic as far as fit, finish and perfomance. I'd get one of those SS HPs, if they really are stainless, and not some plating/coating. Had bad luck with a FM "stainless" HP back in the 90s.

15 pages on it in the BHP section of 1911Forum.

My Very first Browning High Power cost me $275 brand new in the bag in 1976.

For the better part of the late 1980s to the mid 90s the things were like $450 for a like new used one and around 150 dollars more for a new one.

Then everything changed, the dollar lost 2/3rds of its value and people don't understand what that means.

People aren't yet comprehending that Americans are no longer who sets market prices for anything either.

For the civilian gun market we largely do, no?

Not Even Close.

But back on topic, that Turk High Power does look good and I'm betting they bought FN machinery. Probably THE FN machinery.

If those things show up at AIM Surplus for $450 I'd buy one.

The US NAVY buys 60,000 Sig Pistols in one batch.

The US ARMY buys 6000 H&K G28s and the MARINES buy 15,000 H&K M27s and get a 50% discount on that bulk order.

So just who do you think sets the prices for firearms?

It is the market, and by far, the market movers are the military forces and the governments on the planet.

Civilian firearms are a boutique business. Some people shop at wallyworld, others shop at Bulgari.

Its why there are crap trash firearms from Turkey and super boffo trick firearms from Infinity. A mere $3500 price difference.

I dunno, what was your question again?
