Default Pioneer Arms Comeback

Was reading the latest issue of Shotgun News, and there was a whole article about how Pioneer Arms out of Poland was being re-introduced into the US market. Supposedly they have been selling AKs to foreign militaries, that's why they took a step back and have not been selling anything here. I knew they made the semi auto PPSH43 pistol, but have not heard or seen anything else of theirs.

I had one of their AKS, it ran fine for 3000 round before I traded it. They got a bad rap because IO brought them in slapped some of their parts. The worse part was they came in a IO box. But to be fair, IO use to bring in a number of guns that had nothing to do with their domestic production.

As to PA making a comeback? What kind and at what price. At best they were equal to a WASR.

I want a Sterling semi auto and a Scorpion EVO this year. Those PPS thingies are neat. I may have to save for a Zenith 308 g-3 too since they may bring one in

Pioneer Arms went bankrupt few years ago. That's why they weren't selling anything. Their AKs for US market were rather questionable quality with multiple customers reporting issues with snapped bolts and etc...
IO owner was heavily engaged in Pioneer Arms...
So here we go again, back from recycling. So who wants to be crash test dummy? :-)

I guess we'll see if anything has changed. Maybe they parted ways with IO.

They keep mentioning they plan to bring a semi PM-63 to market. That might be interesting even if it's a turd. I bought one of the infamous TNW Suomi kits and after a lengthy build with some re-engineering of some parts it's become one of my favorite guns. I'd be in for a PM-63, especially if they sold it in 80% kit form (that's not likely but I can wish).

Seems the only genuine Polish parts were the barrel and receiver. Based on the few I saw they had some Romanian parts mixed in considering the rear sight leafs were a dead giveaway.

Article mentions RAK, but as complete gun, not parts kits.

Pioneer arms is located in radom. They withdrew from usa market to focus on military customers?! They r returning to u.s. market with the pps43c. Thry hsven taken over fabryka bronis (arsenal 11) old buildings. Most of their production capability has been ak rifles for military sales. After pps43, they r releasing a semi auto variant of the polish 9x18 mm pm wz.63 rak submachine gun

Apparently have set up a U.S. subsidiary, Pioneer USA. No mention of any other company affiliation in the article.
The U.S. base is out of Deland Florida and registered under a Dillard Johnson.

I'm certain they also imported a 12 gauge double barrel coach gun that was supposed to be the best quality one ever imported. It was pricy at $1000 but if you wanted top notch, this was it. American Rifleman Magazine did a "Dope Bag" write up on it.

You guys are some real good Goog detectives here and it's nice to read about a possible new Polish offering for US.

I own a Hell-Pup and have found it shoots the crap out of 7,62 x 39 all day long.

THIS^^ I tried to pick up one of their coach guns, but was unable to get one before they folded. Hopefully they come back with their coach gun as well

LoL at the selling guns to foreign militaries bullshit. They where shitty guns when they came in per most reviews of them. That's why they stopped selling them.
By that logic we would have to assume that they sucked so much that foreign militaries stopped buying them too and that's why they are coming back to the US.

I hope they got their shit sorted out this time and actually produce a good rifle though. Another quality import option is always nice.

The write up sounded suspect when it comes to that, but who knows. Some of the articles in the former SHOTGUN NEWS are spot on, others, ehh. If I recall correctly, they called the RAS47 a"fine example" of an AK with "exceptional accuracy".

Yes it was. It helped usher in the all US made AK clone. Some were represented as being all American made I remember. First I ever saw a cast AK trunnion. Cast barrel parts. Did have some nice wire folders on em sometimes
