It ain't no sub 2k, but it takes glock mags and its equally as ugly. They say the 1911 version works with doublestack mag guns, so Aceshigh's doublestack 1911 might fit if he got rid of the ambi safety. Plop a b-tac folding stock doodad on it and it'll be about as small as a sub 2k.

I like to load half a mag with Underwood, and the top of the mag with watered down 10mm cheap range fodder like Armscor, you can really feel a huge difference in recoil, and if shooting steel, see and hear a huge difference.

I've been a 10mm guy since the mid 90's when I got a Glock 20. I've had an EAA Witness Hunter, and Limited models, and they are well made pistols for the money. Also had a compact Glock 29 for awhile, but I found the recoil too punishing to be a fun gun.

Sold all of them and only keep my Glock 40 MOS, with a reflex sight on it.

When you put it next to any other Glocks it looks like a toy, because it is slightly bigger in every dimension. LOVE IT. Highly recommend if you can only get one pistol in 10mm.

Love me some Glock 40. It's just an insane pistol for hunting, woods carry, etc....

Had one of these also, used it with my old Glock 20 lower.

It was fun for the range a few times, but honestly it was fricking HEAVY as all crap. And ALL of the weight was in that barrel so it made it rather unwieldy. Wouldn't recommend, unless you GOTTA have it, and can find one cheap in the used market, so if you discover (like me) that you don't like it, you won't lose your ass when u sell it.

As with any gun.
Recommend you rent/borrow and shoot before you buy.
Also a word of caution.
Rented a Ruger Super Redhawlk 44 with a long barrel.
It's a monster hand cannon for sure.
But accurate and pleasant to shoot magnum ammo.
So I bought a 4 inch 38 Oz S&W 629 Mountain Revolver.
50 rounds and my hand was bleeding.
IMHO weight and barrel lenght make a big difference with these magnum guns.

Some recommendations?
Ruger recently released a 10mm 1911 that looks interesting.

In 44 mag I'd be looking at what Ruger has to offer.
Preferably with a long barrel.

Good luck

I vote for the 10mm but I reload. If you want a 40 then get a 40. If you want a 44mag get that and shoot 44spcl if you want popgun rounds.

If they would fix the century+ outdated single stack I'd be all over that.

It's 2017, not early 1900's....these guys need to start making double stacks like RIA/Armscor did.

We share the love of HK's but I never owned a 1911 because of single stack being a waste IMO.

How available and expensive are spare mags for the doublestack 1911s? Back when I was thinking about getting one, they came with like 1 magazine and wanted $50 for another one.

Cant speak for all, but the RIA 1911 in double stack 10mm is available and $30 a pop.

OEM mags, not aftermarket

If they made one and beefed it up a bit I'd get another one. I had a 9mm G17 model and it just felt flimsy. Awesome concept, Kel-Tec execution.

This site should have an autosizing feature to embedded pictures.

I'm leaning towards the Glock 41 MOS (45acp) and plop in a 10mm conversion barrel when I want to kill bears or take down a helicoptor. I've got the 34 and really like the size. I don't know if I'd like it bigger in every dimension.

If Ruger made a double stack 1911, I'd buy one, especially in 10mm.

Get a Bren 10 and a Galco Miami Classic shoulder holster.
