Preach on brother!!

You either get free-market economy, or you get socialist thieving of all your shit, there's no other options really. I'll take my chances with the free market.

Buy CHEAP, motherfuckers never buy shit when it's CHEAP, they wait until they need it/can't get it/or until everyone else has run up the price, this is exactly why the stock market stomps out 90% of first-time retail traders within the first 3 months.

Ammo is still cheap, AK's are not, buy ammo. AR's are at historical low prices you will probably NEVER see again due to the perfect storm of Obumfucks retarded presidency, buy AR's NOW if you think you will EVER want one.

But people won't. And then they'll go up much higher and motherfuckers will WHINE, and they'll refuse to buy at the new price because it used to be cheaper, then a new panic will happen, and they'll go through the roof in price.....

....and THAT'S when the dumbshits will all buy, at 10 times the current price.

If you can't get that through your heads, then you best go get in step with all the other Socialists who thinks the world owes them and deserve free shit. Maybe Comrade Sanders will force those mean old manufacturers to sell it to you at what you think they should. Oh wait, commies don't believe in the rank and file having guns.

Excuse me, I need to go complain on a car forum on how Porsche is "price gouging" on their cars...

I was just wondering if K-Var normally does this on sales.

If they can get away with not charging Federal Tax on sales it's new to me.
You are confusing sales tax which is charged by counties and states with the federal income tax which is what the IRS handles.

There were quite a few VEPRs that came in without any threading - I own a couple. Just depends would the importer was. For example I have a Russian marked 23" 7.62*39 - I believe all that came in, in this configuration were non threaded. Spoke to an importer awhile back, told me they could basically spec them however they wanted, but few wanted the Russian writing because they felt it was not durable enough.

The FM is not a configuration ever offered without threading

Here in the Gunshine state, when you buy some thing from out of state it is your responsibility as a good citizen to remit sales tax to the Tallahassee. So, I imagine if you want to pay sales tax all you have to do is mail it in!

AQUILA ARMS LLC came in at the same time as those. I know for sure some of these were not threaded.

It's a good rifle, will last you a lifetime. I bought one and liked it so much that two weeks later I bought another one. A week after I picked the second one up the door slammed shut. I paid 999 each and they were pretty easy to find then. Think of the extra 400 as tuition.
DD

Edit I saw one new in the box for over $2000, if that makes you feel any better. And someone will buy it, too.

When did Vepr ever sold for $200? if that what you think AK worth, then may be you should stick to AR rifles

I am in the exact same spot as OP. I do not own a RUS rifle and the VEPR FM-11 seems like the best option at this particular time. Do I like the price tag? Hell no, but I don’t see it ever losing value. That said I will shoot the piss out of it and then hand it down to family.

On the fence, somebody push me.

Never. I bought a Robinson Arms Vepr in 2005 for a princely sum of $600 IIRC (still have a sales receipt somewhere), 20" barrel. RA did not have 16" Veprs at the time. It is not threaded. Short AK74 style break is held on by 3 set screws. But it is the most accurate AK I have, and 4" extra inches help with accuracy and bullet velocity.

Thanks guys for the support. I have a real problem now. I bought a 107FR in 2015. Shot probably 3-4K rounds out of it over past few years. Then I got horned up and needed an AKsU. So I got the 104UR and stamped it. That one is supposed to be back from JBI sometime next week. And now the VEPR. Shit my wife is going to kill me and bury me in the backyard! LoL

Being serious, when did women become the holders of the money in American households?

Growing up, my mother had to talk my father into spending money on himself. He was a big hunter, fisher, and just generally all-around outdoorsman. she'd talk him into a new rifle or new boat or new jeep every so often.
I never saw them fight over money either.

Then again, neither of them was prone to making rash financial decisions *shrug*.

I have 2 Molots, and 2 Izhmashes. I'd like having more, but am happy to have what I do.
And nope, the VEPR was never, ever anywhere close to $200...especially not for a pistol gripped model.
The very basic and totally unconverted Saiga in 7.62x39 was once, a long time ago in a galaxy far far away $180 or so retail, but....a different rifle and a very different time.

People like to talk about $200 Chinese AKs but if you actually go back and look at gunshop prices from the late 1980s, theyw ere more in the $250-$300 range.
And if you adjust that for inflation? Well you get a price pretty much identical to what the WASR10 and NPAP are going for today.
Then realise that the Chinese AK was by far the cheapest on the market back then, and go look at prices on Cassner SA 85m, Steyr Maadi ARM, and Valmet M76 and M78.
After all that, you'll get a much clearer picture and more honest answer.

Yes I remember when saigas were 290.00 all over the place. I'm really glad I got my SA-93 for 360.00 way back when...It was my first AK.

Here in the great state of NH, we don't pay sales tax, no state income tax, either. They rape us on property tax, though. The tax free liquor sales to the drunks in neighboring states help. The lottery here stinks, as nobody wins shit. I hate to admit it, but Massachusetts lottery pays more...and more often...or so I'm told.

BRAVO! Exactly! Guys love showing ads from shotgun news and crap. Back then things were way different and actual LGS prices were not SN prices. Everything you said is spot on but they still like to complain. I ask them one question, What were you making back in 1982? If your not making a lot more now, you have bigger problems than the price of combloc weapons.

You'll need CSS or SGM slant back converter, Dinzag RPK handguard retainer, gas tube, furniture, install bullet guide, and cut the muzzle nut. These are bolt on parts and won't look as sexy as the FM-AK47-11 but you might save some money if you get the sporter for a good price. Right now the prices have gone up on all VEPRs.

I'd get the FM if you can afford it and just be done with it.

I have a sporter I converted and I love it but honestly if you only want one I'd go with the fm for the reasons stated above. By the time you pay the let's say $900 for the gun plus transfer fee at ffl so another $25, +$200 or so for the parts to convert, and let's say another $100 for the furniture you're really at about $1300 which is $100 cheaper than the fm.

The handguard retainer for the FM-AK47-11 is for RPK Handguards. You can fit RPK surplus handguards.

RPK HG is best. Files member Krazy Ukranian has full sets of wood available on his website. It has the RPK HG's as Noodle mentioned, and matched AKM stock and grip to go with it. A couple of colors to choose from.
https://www.sovietstocks.com/stockse...ak-blackcherry
https://www.sovietstocks.com/stockse...-russian-blood

Or buy the RPK HG's separately and find a stock that is a close match, or just refinish yourself. That's what I did. Found a stock and a 29 mm wood grip and finished it to match the RPK HG's I bought. If you would like a pic to see how it came out send me a PM.
