If you are into You Tube check out Cedric and Ada reviews, guy is out of Australia. Lots of fixed and folding blade reviews and he goes into a lot of geeky detail on the steel compositions, which I like.
If you are worried about breakage and willing to drop some coin, I'd look at Bark River Bravo One in either four or six inches. Either A two steel or CPM three v. Thick sharpened pry bar. USMC tested. For big time chopping power check out the Bark River Dark Timber Grizzly. Oh man.

Yea I mean seals n such was packing that spartan sword type Bowie knife. The kabar has proven itself I got 300$ custom knife but kabar they went from 30-40$ to 70$. I mean I sorta helped with new usmc knife who wants pack kabar n bayonet. I kept my m7 I think razor sharp I mean a good knife is worth having for all kinds things I had desert dagger 2 on ELBV but great kill with but that’s it . And kabar makes kydrex sheath or apparently they are easy to make but they make noise.

While not a genuine Kukri, that knife is surprisingly serviceable steel. This guy reworked his for a few bucks, an interesting read and website at least…

Serviceable is a good word to describe mine, I was quite pleased with what I got for $20.

I've owned benchmade, spyderco, and even Chris reeve folders. I about determined that the pm2 and the G10 griptilian were my go to folders couldn't really complain about them at all. The sebenza 21 didn't see the pocket enough and that's why it's for sale. As far as fixed blades esee knives and Randalls are what I've got and I can't complain.

If money is less of a concern then I would look at the Bravo 1 from Bark River in either 4.25" or 6" depending on your needs. They are making one in CPM-3V that I have been drooling over for quite some time, but have not been able to bring myself to drop that much coin. If I were going on deployment tho I would be strongly considering it.
Whoops. I now see I gave the exact same advice a week ago. Getting old I guess. At least I am consistent Lol. I worked w some machetes for light wood processing w my boys over thanksgiving and am really fired up right now. Condor is making some great Parang style machetes that basically are Axe r placements. I am just about to pull the trigger on a Condor Warlock. It is 1075 HC steel, but for me that is ok for a machete. Condors Village Parang and Pack Golok are really beautiful old style wood handle w leather sheath blades that are nice also. And BEEFY as hell. As in 32 oz blades.

I like the Gerber mkll, KA Bar, and the gerber Lmf. As for big boys I like the Ontario Raider Bowie. I feel like the man himself with that beast

I actually own and prefer the Spyderco Paramilitary 1 because the blade is a little bit shorter than the Paramilitary 2 . I own at least a couple and they are good knives as long as they are not abused , like as a pry-bar , a screw-driver , or a hammer . Spyderco also usually uses good steel in their blades . I will not own a knife with a 420 steel blade .

Depends on a lot actually... better steel? Buck 118D2 and or cabela’s Alaskan buck 110 S30v? I use the bucks for the warranty...
Sharpening easily or hard? The S30v sharpens easier than the D2 but you’ll need tougher diamond stones or boride abrasive silicon carbide CS-HD general polishing stones... On the run in the woods where a flat rock is all? Then saber grind anything... I mention the cabelas Alaskan knives cuz with 20% off discount cards and waiting for a sale you can get he price down to @$61-66 for a 110 depending on the time of year... |

I love the Buck 110, a lot. Especially for the money. Grew up on it. Still own one. But nowadays you can get better knife steel w a one handed open/close mechanism, especially for the weight. That 110 is a heavy sucker. Big and beautiful heh heh.
Just received a Condor Warlock Machete. 13" blade of 1/4" 1095 steel in a Parang style blade. I haven't used it yet, but am really surprised at the fit and finish as it's definitely a cut above what Condor usually provides. Good looking black coated blade w Micarta handle. Looking forward to putting her threw her paces, but so far she gets a 9. Would have been a 10, but I'll need to touch up the lower part of the blade near the grip to get her razor sharp for finer wood carving capability etc.
