Default Pinned Measurement Question

I've ordered a 14.5" barrel and am going to pin and weld a device on it and I know the overall length needs to be 16".

If I have a muzzle brake that's slanted (Diamondhead T Brake to be exact) does the measurement come from the end of the device or where the brake begins to open?

That's definitely a reference I won't forget, regrettably...

Thanks for the response!

I thought it was 16” or more from bolt face (with bolt closed) to end of extension/brake/hider, is that wrong?

The only advice I will give is to make it minimum 16-1/8" from closed bolt cartridge recess to end of muzzle - someone may have a "short" measuring rule.

The measurement is to the closest point.

With a slanted brake or open prong frash hider, the measurement is to the bottom or shortest opening.

The, "twisted open prong flash hiders may or may nor get a break.

When the original open prong Smith brakes were rejected, the, "Phantom" flash hider was supposed to be as good as the Smith flash hider and longer than the A1 / A2 flash hiders on AR15's to make legal length with a 14.5" barrel.

The Phantom flash hider has a full, closed circle at its end and was purposely made longer than the AR15 flash hiders, and it does work well.

Lol, yeah my m92 is right at 16 and 1/8”—used a cheap previously used extension that had a little taken off the rear and it worked out just right.
