Ironwood Designs - Matt -
The new Galil ARM handguard arrived on the 1/3/17, at the location you specified.
Please pick it up, so it doesn't get damaged at the post office.

Yes, I do have a real nice spare plastic, and an OK wood handguard, but I'd sure like to put that new wood one on, to see it "finished" off right.

Just taking measurements, right?

No spare here, only have the one Galil and didn't figure on needing a spare. I would like to do a kit, maybe in the future.

Matt, it's been over 2 months now and I really would like my hand guard back that you promised to ship 2 weeks ago.
Seems like this is the only way to get an answer since you don't contact from emails or PM's. Oh BTW it wasn't me that started the thread in General Discussion.

"The one gentleman who had sent his Galil hand guard in for us to reproduce started this thread. I have been trying to squeeze into my schedule the measurement and 3D workup of those ARM hand guards. It has taken a little longer than intended. No one else in the industry is gong to make these, but I will, why, because a few guys really wanted a new set. I was backed up with my email this week, and I just responded to him this morning."

Your ignoring all communication makes me wonder if my hand guard it in the condition I sent it. Is it still in one piece? And being busy is no excuse to ignore someone doing you a favor, we're all busy, a little communication goes along way.

My handguard is being sent back to me on Tuesday.
I'm sure Ironwoods new Galil ARM handguards will be as beautiful as Ironwood's other work.
Thank you Matt.

Headed this way per Matt. Hopefully he's staying dry out there.

Still waiting for the handguard.
Last I heard, it was going out Monday, March 6.

Anybody want to "borrow" anything?

So much for favors, huh? I was hoping you didn't have to go through the same deal I did.
And not even a "Thanks", just apologies.
I hope it shows up soon bro.

He sent me an email, today, with apologies, and saying it'll be here in 2-3 days.

Hooray!
I got my new ARM handguard back from Ironwood Designs today!!
As soon as my ARM build comes back from the paint shop, that beautiful new handguard is going on.

I guess maybe now, all of Ironwoods preliminary R and D is done, and the Ironwood ARM handguards will be available soon.

That was my whole purpose of lending my handguard out to them, so they could bring new ones to market, for our happy little community.

Hello Ironwood Matt,
How soon can we expect to see the Galil ARM wood handguards for sale?
As for the Galil AR handguards already available, what's the price, and what wood is used?
AR handguards re-use old hardware from plastic handguard set, correct?

Boomerdownsir - pics coming soon on the "first build" thread.

Please correct me if I'm wrong here, but, to my old eyes, the ARM plastic and ARM wood handguard hardware looks identical, no?
So it would appear that Ironwood could put the replacement wood panels on either the wood or plastic handguards, right?

Don't get your hopes up or hold your breath. About 8 years ago, I sent Matt a super rare original FAL T48 handguard he wanted to clone. A year later, and multiple emails, I finally got it back. I was supposed to get one of the clones as payment for my loan. Still waiting, 8 years later.....

Glad you guys got your handguards back.

It doesnt say much about a business that asks its patrons for big favors and makes promises they dont keep.

Id say if he promised you a handguard he owes that and some especially for the hassle of getting it back.

I dont care how good the handguards are, seems like he is burning his reputation fast.
