I love my FAL, Galil, M1A, PTR 91.

I like that SIG.

FN knows to keep supply low, that is why there isn't a surplus in the civilian market.

I bet the military discount is nice when buying in bulk though. I am gonna guess 1500 to 1750 a unit tops.
I’ll assume you own a 5.45 Saiga, so what do you think the bulk military discount is for AK-74s?

74's, 250 a piece easy.

This is true, but it shows that, contrary to a lot of comments to the effect of “you have to spend $2000 on an Elcan or your optic will die,” there are $250 options that work just fine on the SCAR.

And here comes the well the SCAR only costs twice what they make it for and the 74 is usually more here, so the SCAR is just that much of a better value right?

That doesn't translate into actual final cost for the manufacturer vs. what they sell for.

But please do go on.

Glass is clear. Best combat reticle available with the ACSS. Built like a tank. Plenty of torture tests show what it can handle and sustain. Uses the common ACOG amounts. What isn't there to like about it? Only a mall ninja would try to convince you need to drop the same amount of money or more than you spent on your rifle on optics.

Exactly. He owns a Holosun 403A and a 510C based on what he has said in the past. But is now complaining about the ACSS Prism optics being too cheap. Got it.

I understand compromises have to be made when choosing optics, I myself have a general rule of keeping them under $500.00. On the other hand never go below $200.00. (complete junk) If I had to spend >$1000.00 on every scope I owned I would never be able to afford ammo to shoot them.

Some people will never own a Chines scope, I don't have that problem. For the money they are hard to beat and they seem to get better every year.

I also own aimpoints and POSP's, and obzors and frankly I have blown more money on guns and accessories than most of you. But it is funny how you guys only prove my point, I can buy a Steyr AUG CQC and throw an aimpoint on it and go out and put more than 1k rounds a year threw it. None of this I have owned 5 years now and I got 3k rounds threw it.

Then claims it's the greatest weapon ever because of some military trials because you don't have the rounds down range to back it up, it's comical. You guys are true definition of mall ninja's, you will argue gear and caliber making a difference rather than tactics and proficiency.

GTFO mall ninja and go find some more youtube vids.

Funny how you always revert back to dick measuring and purse swinging when you have nothing else worthwhile to respond with. Then you get all upset and flustered.

So you own and run Holosun optics and are complaining about guys running ACSS Prism scopes because they are too cheap but then complain the gun they are running them on is too expensive while you run your Holosun optics? Thou doth protest too much. Why do you care so much about what other gun owners are running? Tell us what makes the ACSS Prism optic unworthy of being used since you are so worried for us.

I got my 17s only 5 months ago. I have 800 rounds through it at this point. Zero issues. Every trigger pull has been a joy. By the end of the twelve months I will have around 1800-2000 rounds on it in the first year is my guess. So you don't need to worry about me not enjoying it. I am. You ever come to my part of the country, I'll let you shoot it so you can give it a try and experience it. Open invitation.

Look at all the money I spend, guys. Expensive rifles are bad, but expensive optics are good. Except cheap optics are good when I use them, guys. My AK-74 is marked up several times more than a SCAR is, but I’m definitely not the sucker, guys. Look at all the rounds I shoot, guys. Look at how much I struggle with the English language, guys. Please give me validation, guys.

What I really enjoy about the SCAR threads is how they harken back to the days when Magpul PMAGs first came out. The same refusal to get with the times mentalities blather on about how older things are better and so on and so forth.

My inability or unwillingness to spend $10,000,000 on a mansion doesn’t mean that said mansion is overpriced.

can the SCAR17/16 fit in with other guns?, absolutely. however they're on the pricey side, but don't really interest me all that much, but that doesn't mean that if others want them, they shouldn't buy them.

Nice job ehilderbrand, that looks really good.

I also like the look of the Khyber Pass SCAR special.

I continue to fawn over this rifle like I did the day I brought it home early this Spring. It’s so sexy and handles so well. Even on a 14 mile hike. I love the peace of mind that comes with knowing I have the very best the firearm industry has to offer in terms of a battle rifle slung across my back.

I run a Nikon P308 on my one FAL rifle... so far no issues.

Was curious as to what kind of AK74 you run Archetype, mine is a all matching # Bulgarian kit gun ( including barrel ) built on a Nodak receiver and Russian plum furniture including grip.
My son loves it for being so easy to bump fire.

Trigger time is important, I have one FAL with over 4000 rounds I put through it and one Norinco AK with over 7000 rounds through it.

I stocked up on .308 surplus years back when it was dirt cheap and stacked it deep.

I have an all-matching Bulgarian kit on a Morrissey receiver and a Waffen Werks build on their receiver. Despite all the horror stories, it has never had the slightest hiccup. The 74s do bump fire very well.

Modern firearms don't do a whole lot for me... Modern Optics on the other hand though... lol. That's another story.

I personally won't buy anything that I don't see a return on investment with. My "newest" firearm is my springfield XDS that I carry every day... Only because single stack 9mms were not that great until about 20 years ago. Everything else I have is old... Lots of Chicom AKs... Lot of HK stuff
