You might want to go back and listen to the original AKOU interview with Arsenal. The reality is the Arsenal guy didn't say anything. He basically said nothing.... his words were very used car salesman-y.

I really don't think another large batch of SLR104FRs will come in. I've said in other posts exactly why i think this, so don't want to go into it again here but you can search if it interests.
Sure K-Var might 'find' a small batch of them in the back, but as for fresh, new imports?
Seems highly unlikely to me.

And if I am wrong? That would be great. The SLR104FR was one of the best 5.45x39 rifles to ever be offered here.
Funny thing is that when they were readily available, a lot of people kind of just ignored them. I don't want to say they were slow sellers but they weren't exactly flying out the doors either.

I would think limited runs and a commanding price when they do come back.

I didn't have a problem getting trade offers on mine so the desirability has gone up even in the short time it's been gone.

I agree! I've already purchased matching numbered Bulgarian Bolt and Bolt Carrier, Front Trunnion, Dust Cover and Selector from "jman1100ct" here in the MP a couple of days ago. I'm going to build a 104CR clone and SBR it.

I'll be ordering a custom Childer's Guns LLC receiver to match the serial number, my Trust engraved on it and Bulgarian angle selector notches and writings.

Other than the VPER 5.45 rifle, SLR104FR's are currently OUT OF STOCK. The OP is looking for SLR104FR.

Correct me if I’m wrong; But IIRC the last word we had on the 104’s was Arsenal had discontinued them & there would be no more.

It’s a real shame what’s happened to the 5.45 market. It really is a fantastic little round. Just never got the traction it needed. The 7N6 ban was the final nail in its coffin here in the good ole USA.

It is difficult for the SLR-104 to financially compete with a stripped lower and a generic AR-15 kit. On top of the cost for the SLR-104 you have to know where to find the ammo. In addition, the costs for the mil-spec mags do not help the situation. With all of that - I am a card carrying SLR-104 fanboi .

Honestly, I'd say the final nail for the 5.45x39 was last year's Molot sanctions. Until then, at least a very high quality rifle for the caliber was still imported and sold at a reasonable price.
With a good rifle for people to buy, there was still interest in the ammo, but once it disappeared?

Right now, Arsenal isn't even able to provide enough SAM7 and SLR107 rifles for the market, so it wouldn't make much sense to devote resources to the SLR104.
While we all love 5.45x39 here, it is a niche caliber. It is important to be honest about this.
The SLR104FR is desireable now because you can't readily find them. If a large batch where to hit the market, after the 100-200 people who just really want one buy and sate their desires, then the rest would just hang out and sell at about the same rate as they did before.
The SLR104FR was on the market from 2013 until late 2016-early 2017; so not exactly a small window. There was plenty of time for someone to pick one up if they wanted.
Honestly the one i wish they would have reintroduced was the SLR105. While folders are neat, I do like a fixed stock AKM or AK74 with classic Russian wood furniture....whose with me?!?!

This year seems to belong to the AR15 market. The AK market has been pretty slow, dull, and with rising prices.
The AR on the other hand, several new models have come out, there's some buzz about this or that, and prices continue to remain very low and competitive.

I love my AKs and haven't sold a single one recently, but I've not bought a new one lately either.
ARs on the other hand? I've picked up at least 2 so far this year.

Knowing them that's the most likely approach. Not any time soon though. They've gotta string you along and build up the anticipation and the "gotta have it" factor. Closer to Christmas time or tax time next year would be my guess.

I doubt Arsenal would ever comeback to 5.45, their Bulgarian website below is only listing rifles in 7.62 and 5.56. It is gone, forget it, get 106 or buy what you can on gunbroker.

I won't say you are wrong and I have heard some here say they want nothing to do with 5.45.. but I don't know. What baffles me is that with the beryl mags coming in, why not a peep from arsenal about renewing the 106 FR's? Why is arsenal in general, so damn secretive? Even little things like more 4.5mm pins, 5.45 BSE, bolt head parts, extractors,AR-m5 flash hiders.. things that aren't that big a deal just won't come in. Its enough to ruin a meal.

5.45 is my favorite AK caliber but no Arsenal took it away from their web site, it is gone. I don’t think it is something they need anymore, caliber is made in Russia only and no point of dealing with it for them. It is sad for us but I got couple of 106 and will learn to shot them Slr106F or FR is actually very simmilar rifle, mags is only problem.

They don't list any stamped models on their website.
If you look at the models displayed on their webpage, they are all milled.

I read somewhere that someone said that Arsenal of Bulgaria outsourced the stamped models due to some issue where they didn't have the patents to produce the akm.

I bought a brand new matching numbers bulgy parts kit, bulgy barrel, recreator receiver, triangle, furniture and had Turbothis build it. Fucking awesome AKS74 clone!! $1,150 ish altogether
