Default Atlantic ARM kits

Anybody has any experience with those? Price point is a far cry from the $750+ some of us had to pay for a decent ARM a couple of years ago.... Also any experience with those 'US made barrels on IMI spec'?

Id buy the APEX kit.....add the CZ barrel for $40 and your GTG!.....if anything at all the barrel price is the selling point.....if you want old school with a touch of history get the numrich kit...the demil reciever is worth it and the parts have a great feel and patina about them....my 2 cents

Thanks Ron - was just curious because I never saw them selling Galil kits before - I have three kits stashed away (Apex ARM, Numich ARM and SAR) for the rainy days already....

This just might be the Golden age of Galil kits. Keep squirreling them away. Its not light they are made anymore

Ive had a cppl from apex and numrich recently..just like mullirck said..id say you cant go wrong either way with those two options!! I belive that the atlantic barrels are the same barrels that apex is offering for 40 when you buy there kit..and past cppl of those barrels(nos barrels from apex) ive used have been great quality wise finnish and fit.

I also noticed century arms has some galil arm kits in there surplus corner...i am curious about both the atlantic and the centurys as ive not heard any firsthand feedback...

And theres also an outfit on gunbroker selling kits for cheap as well..once again havent heard and feed back...bad or good?

Anyone buy a ARM or SAR kit from the Gunbroker vendor mentioned above?

Seller states the buyer will receive the exact kit pictured. Any opinions on these?

Hes got good feedback. Had some ARM kits with VG/excellent wood HGs. I was going to grab one but they were taken down before I could snag one. Now they are mostly poly HGs and some with rougher wood HGs

I didn't see any Galil kits on the Century web site.
Maybe Atlantic bought them?

Just to clarify, the "NOS 1/12" barrels from Apex are NOS IMI production?

I picked up an ARM kit to build a shooter, my preban doesn't get out enough.

Looks like the century kits are gone...

Theres a guy on instagram that gets the gunbroker kits and uses them for hunter/galil conversions.. from what ive seen the kits are nice! Bayo lugs on the arm gas blocks. The receivers are cut up to almost nothing tho..

The apex barrels are the same barrel that atlantic has..they are made by cz to imi spec and are great! Wish i could buy a cppl more..just to put on the shelf for future builds!

Comes with mag and typically their parts sets are really nice.

If your in need of a barrel then the $40 add on at apex is nice.

I personally wouldnt want a ARM with the bayo lug on the block for the ARM model (SAR bayo lug on block seems GTG). I got a few for just examples but the old blocks are better. The Bayo lug on those newer blocks has a tendency to crack if bumped or ? The metal is clearly different and the machining is too.

Basically the older stuff to me is built like tanks ....

Are the apex kits as nice as they look now? I know the 2 I got from GPC were pretty darn nice.

I deff agree with you mullirck on the sar bayo block being stronger then the arm with the bayo..my first build *HAD a lug on it.. still id get another one with the bayo lug.

And without a doubt best deal on kits is with apex (if your not after pieces for a reweld)the 40 dollar add on barrel is a great deal and the kits have been great ive seen.

I got a couple dam near new kits from them except for the hand-guards weren't that great. One handguard was snapped but looked new, I was heartbroken

Those for sure went through the arsenal. They were with the block Bayo lug too . The trigger parts were type 1 and 2 early stuff with newer springs and the blocks were near NOS. Stocks were somewhat used, carriers were near NOS as well as the bolts. Gastubes were new. One didnt have a tension spring installed.

Good stuff to me except for that block.

I also got a couple with the older blocks. They were not in the condition above but more a used but good condition. With that said you may not get the condition I stated above....At the time I bought 6 kits and asks for none with the Bayo lug and got 4 with it.

Like I said if you need a barrel and want newer parts then go with the APEX. But again Im no fan of that block.

One more question, CNC or Tortort for a 100% receiver? A Mossberg stripped one or reweld would be nice but I think the former two are easier options.

Is the block compromised at all by the lug breaking off? Would it be worth it to scrap the one in the kit and get a block on its own?

If you are a DIY guy the Tortort is a really nice receiver.
I am building on an 80% receiver and it's spot on dimensionally and heat treat hardness.

Sounds like you are getting the APEX...

Its just my preference. I like the old stuff as many know. The bayo block is IMI made and will survive with a lug or not, I just got enouvh where Im picky so go for it.

Havenít decided on which kit yet. Which are the ones with the older parts - the ones you prefer? Iím new to Galils and will probably only have one built so just looking to see which parts kit is in the best shape.

Numrich--Older parts with demil pieces (No barrel deal)

APEX--has the add on barrel for $40, parts have been in newer arsenal condition. It might be best to call to order. The ones I got and have seen with the block/Bayo lug have been in really nice shape. They also have a small sale on these right now for $329.

Nevermind what I would buy because Im a hoarder and have plenty of everything.

If your looking for better shape stuff then best bet is APEX for a few reasons and I will point them out below .......

APEX has better customer service (If you get your kit and the HG is snapped then they will take care of you for example) Also you may not need to send the whole kit back like Numrich would want.

You can call them and place your order and by chance get someone who might just know what they are talking about.

The parts kit will have most likely went through a arsenal and refurbed. That why some of the kits coming out now have a mixture of different parts like a type 1 trigger set cwith a late model bolt and carrier or Bayo lugged block. They basically removed anything and replaced it that was worn down.

Plus a barrel for $40 is cheap IMO. THose exact barrels not long ago were bringing $100 to $200 before they shipped a metric ton of them in. Even at a $100 its a deal.

Also there is a small sale going down for $329.....Id like it better if it was $299 but hell its better than $500 plus as it was pre 2017....

Dont kick yourself later for not buying right now....Its most likely the lowest it will be ever...I never thought it would get this low but thanks to allot of importing it has and Im taking advantage

So call APEX, add the barrel for $40.....Get a TORTTort receiver and call it a day......Or do as you will....goodluck man

No Problem, you will also need to buy a Bipod, retaining pin and E-Clip....You have a couple choices on the bipod....If you end up getting the Bayo-Lug block then the appropriate bipod is the late model below....

https://www.e-sarcoinc.com/galilbipodlatemodel.aspx

If its a Early block then you can use the one above or get a oldy but goody.

https://www.e-sarcoinc.com/galilbipodearlymodel.aspx

Here is the pin and E-clip from John at 24hourtactical

https://www.24hourtactical.com/Galil...Clip-GALBP.htm

As far as I know E-sarco are the only ones with the Bipods except for Blackthorne but lets not go there!

If your in a Ban area of IL....Sarco has the 10 round mags for blanks....You may or may not need to change the follower....

Later man

Just picked up my ARM kit and barrel from Apex. Everything looks excellent except the handguard. No biggie since I’m using an AR handguard for the build.
The bolt looks new. I’m happy with this kit.
