Default I really, REALLY hate Kvar's new website

Tried to search for some AK front sight blocks and was forced to search through their entire inventory. Finally gave up.

I've bough several firearms and tons of parts from Kvar over the years. Fuck it, I don't have the time to waste, will buy elsewhere.

The old website worked just fine. If it ain't broke, don't fucking "fix" it.

New site must have been designed by Bulgarians.

I felt the same way OP.

I gave up with their search and typed in what I was searching for, along with KVAR in google search to find it.

I hear ya... I prefer the old website better. The old website is user friendly.

Since the launch of the new website, I’ve been ordering parts via phone and have Houston search the inventory for me.

The only downside ordering via phone, you won’t have any track record of your past orders in the website (which I like to have for references).

What also sucks about the new website, it did not transfer my order history/transactions from the old website.

I used to check their website periodically to see if there was anything I wanted. I visited it once since the downgrade and I haven't been back since

I did prefer the old site, but I've been on a couple times browsing for parts and didn't have too much trouble finding stuff. Not nearly as easily as the categorized pages of ak parts they had previously though.

Here's a helpful guide on how the new website works:
http://www.k-var.com/help

Everything is still divided into categories, and can be easily found. The search functions isn't working at full capacity yet, but it is something that is being worked on daily.

Well, I'm sure your job of maintaining your website will be a lot easier with the down tick in business from people getting frustrated with your new site. Of course, it would seem like your priority would be to make products easier for your customers to find and purchase rather than forcing customers to conform to something different (and less intuitive) just make things easier for your staff, but maybe your priorities are different.

I don't want to have to "learn" another site. No time for that. Your previous site was intuitive enough to navigate easily. I tried the search function for "front sight blocks" and "front sight bases" on your new site to cut through the morass and got nothing but a wild goose chase and finally gave up.

If it ain't broke, don't "fix" it.

The good news for me is that after getting frustrated with your site and searching around I've found other sources of parts and firearms with less difficult websites.

Good job!

It is dookie. Even the system connecting their stock the front end is broken. BUT I was still able to make an order so not too broken.

Ok one thing I found annoying.. Y'all have the following calibers .223 .223rem .223remington 5.56 and 5.56x45
They are basically the exact same. So effectively you can't search a rifle by caliber because you have a bunch of typo duplicates.

You also have 7.62x39 7.62x39mm and 7.62 Soviet. And several others It makes the site cludgy and annoying rather than smooth and clean.

HUH WELL I'M GLAD I FOUND THIS THREAD . LOL
YES! THE NEW SITE IS A TOTAL TRASH FIRE.
OLD ONE WAS OUTDATED BUT I WAS USED TO IT AND I COULD FIND STUFF. THE NEW ONE IS SO EFFED UP AND IS PRETTY UNUSABLE. NOT SURE WHY IT IS SO FUCKED UP WHEN AFTER ALL WE ARE IN 2018 AND THEY SHOULD HAVE THE BEST SITE IN THE AK INDUSTRY.

WTF K-VAR??? YOU BLEW IT!!!

I just ordered the other day via phone because website takes far too long to find what I am after. Good to see I am not the only one.

I wasted plenty of time navigating the new site the other day. It’s not user friendly at all. Yes it may still have subcategories but they don’t work properly nor does the search function. Whoever thought it was a good idea needs shit canned. Btw I gave up trying to find most of my order and bought it elsewhere.

Gonna have to jump on the bandwagon. I too was searching for a specific barrel:

http://www.k-var.com/filterSearch?ad...=true&isc=true

Go to Google:

https://www.google.com/search?safe=o...48.OMvgozHRMGA

Couldn't find anything by searching for AK74 FSB or AK 74 GB, but Google those terms brings your product up as the 1st suggestion just like above.

FIX THE WEBSITE!

You might want to fix your categorization. The SLR-107R doesn't show under AK Rifles. But it does show under just rifles.

K-var, (And MSR)
You should ran a Poll on the websites home page (or even a pop-up) results will show ... navigation and search features on these new sites are complete Failures.

[ The Dealer sight MSR has always been terrible, but now without the use of kvar.com its almost useless. The way to use MSR was; find your product at k-var.com (before the downgrade) copy item # and search for said item # on MSR website ]

Totally agree. I was looking at it last week when I was in full shopping mode (panic) and it would always freeze up when I would try to go to the next page while shopping by brand.

It's also annoying how on some firearms they show that it's in stock but there would be no "add to cart option". I figured out that it's because they have that particular firearm listed on gunbroker (for a higher price than their website).

I was close to spending money with them last week. They had a CZ pistol I wanted and a VEPR Super in stock. The VEPR I could not add to cart. I emailed them and got no response. Now the add to cart option is there. Too late. I talked myself into a PTR 91 instead and bought the CZ from another store.

K-VAR should bring Robert Keller back as the GM. I noticed that K-VAR is not the same since Robert Keller left. It seems like K-VAR has gone silent. Robert was a good communicator with akfile members

I'll be very surprised if Kvar lasts much longer... Molot is cut off, Bulgaria cut them off, and it's impossible to buy anything on their website. I can't imagine that they're making much money right now

perhaps the silence is due to layoffs?

it's sad, kvar used to be my go-to place for imports. AOA and Atlantic stepped in and created relationships with Romania, Poland, and other foreign manufacturers. Kvar failed to adapt after losing Molot

Robert is one solid guy. He and I worked together for years and were good friends. Although he will not be coming back to K-Var I can assure you that we're not going anywhere. We've continued to be more profitable than we've ever been. I understand that the website has issues and we're working to get those issues corrected. @Slaw32, sorry we missed you but glad that Atlantic got you taken care of. We'll work on getting more active on the files.

Posters in this thread are telling you that your new website doesn't work and are giving you an opportunity to save your company.

And your response is that they need a tutorial? Unbelievable!
