Default Fime's new Vepr 308, the heavy bastard !

(FM-308-22) with 20-in barrel with Russian tube side-folding stock.. I bet this one will broach 10-pounds

Same price as their 2 previous folding x39 models.

nice rifle, but I already have Vepr 308 slant version. If I am going to get another Vepr 308, I want Definitive Arms pmag edition

Would have rather seen a 5.56 version myself.

Specs in the link says 8 lbs without the mag.

Hoping for a 54R!

I was saying that tongue in cheek because when Fime introduced their 5,45 model 3 weeks ago, they listed it at 10-pounds when it was actually 8-1/2 Will be interesting to see what Fime brings to market next

Ah, I didn't see the 5.45 ad! I'm not sure Kvar is all that "detailed" when it come to weights. They are all heavy beast. I have the 47FM Vepr and it is right at 8lbs with the mag also. The 308 has 6 inches more of barrel! Maybe the larger bore balances that all out, who knows till someone gets one and weighs it.

A factory .308 RPK... Though I think for this beast I'd prefer a fixed stock like the FM-11's (What would that be? An FM-12 for a .308?)

I'm actually not a fan of those tube stocks. Didn't some folks have trouble getting scope mounts onto the side rail with the 7.62x39 version, due to the enormous hinge?

A .308 VEPR is one of the last things on my want list at the moment...

Fime calls this the FM-308-22. Yeah, I'm unable to attach an Arsenal mount to the VEPR 5,45 folder due to its hinge protrudes too much but I've yet to dig out my PSOP scope to see if it fits. Could be why most the 1V's came with hinged-rail top covers.

Wow! This is a seriously badass rifle. I am really tempted and could see this being worth a lot of money down the road.

I'd be interested in hearing why they use these stocks as well. Not just the hinge getting in the way, but the stock itself is garbage compared to the poly folder (they put the rpk folder on the iv in the past) or a standard fixed stock IMO.

I assume the RPK type folding stock that the 1V-E and 1V-RPK came with will interchange with the tube stock's hinge, similar to the SGL/SLR triangle folders swapping with poly stock ?

I received a note today saying the Kashtan mount fits my folding Vepr's mount, as it slides on the rail left-to-right.

Hmm, the guy in the video shows sliding the arsenal SM13V mount without much effort, no hitting the protruding hinge ? Guess I need to order the SM13V from K-Var

Does anyone know the folding mech pin size? I'd be interested to see if that will work with any of the folding stocks we already have on the market.

Pistol Pete mentioned that his Molot-folder pins were peened on the ends so they would not easily slip out... and what folding stocks are you referring to as being already on the market ? I'd like to swap the RPK clubfoot folder on one of my folder.s

Ideally, I would put an AK-100 series poly folder on it. Unfortunately, the folding mech doesn't appear to work with it.

Folding stock + 20 inch barrel = not making sense
