It is the same thing. Just because they use a different form changes nothing.

You will see. It will play out the same.

It is also fascinating to me how easily people are sucked into these schemes.

It's always different this time or the old rules don't apply.

I really have to laugh at Congress.

I watched how they handled the mortgage crisis and impending recession in 2007-2009.

Is it an extreme risk? Yeah! so is playing the stock market. Difference is your playing with supply and demand currency, in the hopes people keep buying into it. Its not one person or a huge corporation stealing peoples money. You have the option of selling when the shit starts to crash.

Will BTC probably fail? Im sure it will. But the other crypto technolgy thats being created will be the norm im thinking. Like ethereum and ripple and others.

School me a little on Ripple. Best place to buy/sell & store (this is the most important part to me, secure storage) it?

Anything I should know?

PM me if you'd like.

Kraken and shapeshift both let you trade other currencies for ripple. They're also both crap websites. Shapeshift can take up to 72 hours sometimes. kraken's faster but their site goes down 500 times a day.

Also, Ripple is now listed on CoinSwitch. You can purchase it from https://www.coinswitch.co/exchange/btc/xrp/0.1

From what I understand it's much easier to buy Bitcoin & "trade" it for Ripple.

Any good, secure, sites for that?

Is it too late to get into crypto’s? What is everyone’s thoughts? I’ve been toying with the idea of taking just a small amount, maybe $1k, and purchasing BTC, ETH and LTC. Was going to use Coinbase... I was just going to keep the money in long enough to see if I can double it, take my initial investment out and then let the rest ride.

Dumb idea?

Depends on who you ask. Some people have been calling it overpriced and a scam since it was at $500. If you ask them, it's gonna crash and it's not worth it. I personally think it'll go up a good bit. I'm expecting each of the 3 you mentioned to double by springtime. Wait till the next time they down 10 or 15% and scoop some up. But only gamble what you can afford to lose and yada yada.

Prices need to cool down a bit as I think there is a lot of euphoria in crypto right now. Prices now may be higher than they will be in a month or two. However, for long term, we are going to look back at these prices and say "damn I wish I bought more"

Ethereum is up over $800. Decred is $90. That puts a little 4 video card hobby miner churning out $327/mo after you subtract electricity and pool fees. Pretty good ROI.

Well I booked profit on my GBTC, BTC and LTC holdings. Most in cash and some in Bitcoin Cash. Looks a little tired here so waiting on a pullback perhaps. Do have a small nominal amount of BTC and LTC but have mostly booked profit on this latest run.

I dont think anyone actually was able to unload at that price on Coinbase. All BCH trading was halted for a while.

Got the email but did get some BCC from the "fork" and grabbed some BCC on Kraken before Coinbase announced.

Seems there may have been some "insider" trading and Coinbase shutdown for a time to look into it. The Swede BTO Co-founder of Bitcoin sold his BTC position this last week. He swapped some into BCC.

Also, founder Charlie Lee of Litecoin sold his LTC holdings over the last couple days.

These sales were the signs for me to bail out as well. When the "Whales" sell it's done (at least for the time being).

Bitcoin fell 30% yesterday to 11k. That's a huge loss of value in only one day. The bubble might be beginning to pop...

CANNABIS INVESTING

After some serious research and analysis I have taken the plunge into cannabis investing. Cannabis plays have been "blazing" away and I have narrowed my selections down to two stocks right now. Both are Canadian and poised to rocket as recreational pot is legalized in Canuck-land later this next year.

My two selections are:

1. Aurora Cannabis ((Ticker: ACBFF) and 2. Canopy Growth (Ticker: TWMJF).

Aurora Cannabis

Aurora Cannabis, a supplier of medical cannabis in Canada, has initiated steps for an international expansion, especially to countries such as Germany and Australia. To cement its market positioning further, the company recently announced plans to buy Canadian marijuana grower CANNIMED THERAPEUT CMMDF.

Canopy Growth

Canopy Growth, both a producer and supplier of weed, has been a product of many M&A transactions and is heavily reliant on inorganic growth. Constellation Brands, Inc. STZ recently announced a deal to buy a 9.9-percent stake in Canopy Growth for $191 million, as the former is exploring the option of bringing cannabis-based drinks to the market.

There are others as well and I am considering expanding my portfolio in that direction as well. Not a smoker or toker but a realist when it comes to money and how to make money.

On my short list are also ...

Grow Condos (Ticker: GRWC) and Hempcoin (Ticker: THC):

Grow Condos Inc. focuses on providing industrial properties mainly gauged towards the Marijuana industry. The company buys, sells and leases the properties to prospective Marijuana growers. The companyís portfolio of services also includes an end to end consulting service to Marijuana growers. The services focus on Real Estate, equipment and finance, labor and logistics, and brand building. In a nutshell it is a one-stop-shop for anyone who wants to venture into the Marijuana industry. The has company established itself as a growth partner in the cannabis dynamic industry that is now gaining attention to many companies, including pharmaceuticals.

Hempcoin is a cryptocurrency that focuses on the agriculture industry, specifically on marijuana hemp farming. It is built on Blockchain which is the same technology that runs other cryptocurrencies including bitcoin. It is worth pointing out that it is built on Bitcoinís source code. Its reason for existence is to facilitate transactions between marijuana dispensaries and marijuana farms. The existence of this coin thus highlights the acceptance of blockchain technology in the world of marijuana. Hempcoin aims to facilitate easier and faster transactions between marijuana or hemp farmers and distributors. As the US banking industry is not allowed by law to bank for marijuana businesses this is a means for legalized MJ businesses to park funds and conduct business.

I took out most of my bitcoin around $17,500. I left some in and just shorting the market everyday. Making about $20/day doing that.

Been out for a couple weeks now. Just watching and waiting for a new reentry point. Do have a small amount of BTC and LTC in my account due to the trading platform slowing down and my last sell not going through ... Made bank tho.

Currently investing in energy, telecoms and marijuana stocks (doing well on those too - not as good as on Cryptos tho).

My current Portfolio:
