Default Arsenal SA RPK-7

Just picked up this RPK off Gunbroker. I know the receiver is finished at Arsenal Las Vegas, hence the minimal markings on the receiver however NOTHING else besides the receiver is marked; bolt, carrier, spring, gas tube, dust cover, or barrel (not even electro etching). Wouldnít that make a mix up more likely?

Anybody able to shed any light on why Arsenal didnít mark these guns? (hopefully itís supposed to be this way). Gun looks totally unmolested otherwise. Thanks.

My RPK 7 has minimal markings as well. Congratulations on the RPK. That's a pretty good price!

In general, factory RPKs aren't really known for having a ton of markings.

Arsenal Inc. assembled these rifles using parts kits imported from Arsenal AD, Bulgaria. The parts in these kits were new, virgin so much like the virgin Zastava M92 kits we got years back; not a ton of proofs or serials.
A friend has one of these kits that he picked up ages ago from K-Var.

Likewise, the receiver is finished out here, so won't have the usual Arsenal AD proofs or marks.

Which parts are US made? no one knows because no one actually cares about 922(r) besides internet lawyors who haven't had a good sexing in far too long.

Great rifle and hope you enjoy it. And if you ever get in a bhind for cash, feel free to hit me up and I can make RPKs turn into cash overnight.
I am like those cash for gold places, only just not a complete rip off hehe.

Thanks for the information mishaco. You are considered one of our gurus here so that makes me feel better about the purchase. I’m especailly gunshy after almost purchasing a SGL 21-94 that wasn’t factory but dealer claimed it was (cgp saved me and dealer returned money).

What were the warning flags on that SGL21-94?

I guess now with those going for so much money, it really is worth some people faking them.
K-Var still has the folding stock assemblies, and if done honestly and professionally, it would still be neat to take a standard SGL21 and install the assembly. Afterall, that's really all Arsenal/FIME did.

Here’s the thread mishaco. I posted a pic in post #41 and cgp spotted that the rear rivets were incorrect (he’s really good, pic was pretty crappy). And I think I started the “milled vs. stamped gas tube lever” debate

Have since gone on to purchase two 21-94’s but both came with paperwork and original box from Arsenal. Also, both of mine start with “T111” which seems to be the correct serial number sequence for these guns.

And here’s a pretty through review of the 21-94 with a lot of high quality pics. Definitely wished I’d seen it before buying.
