Default Guess a XDM 9mm is in my future

Bought 7 like new magazines for a 9mm 19 round Xdm pistol from a yard sale. Guess I can 1. Just resale them or 2. Buy a pistol that goes to the magazines.

Don't need either, but can't pass up on a deal.

Who has a xdm? What barrel length to get?

Or flip the mags

I have the 3.8" version. Close to G17 size overall. I have no complaints.

I very much like XDMs. I started with a 3.8 compact in .45acp. I shot that pistol well, but pinched the meat of my hand a few times inserting mags in the short grip. So I traded in on a full size. Love it as well. Then I swapped in a threaded barrel and added an Osprey 45. Great combo. Enough I bought a factory threaded model when they came out. And then I bought another one in 9mm, but have yet to actually shoot that one. Im considering getting a slide milled for a red dot.

I thought we all collectively hated springfield around here?
Either way, the XD guns seem like they're really polarizing. Dudes either love them or say they're the worst gun they ever purchased. Probably better rent or borrow one before investing any more money than you already have.

I've had a couple Springfield's. I'm down to one left that will hopefully find a new home soon. I like the trigger and the feel but not how they shoot. XDS 45 was problem free and I liked it but had to have a G43 when they were announced so I sold it. XDM 45 with 4.5" barrel was cool but I wasn't in love with it. Now have a XDM9 3.8" and it's ok but I can't shoot it well so I'm selling it too. The 9 has been the toughest to sell. No one seems to want it. I have ten 19rd mags with it and everything including the case with it.
I would just use them as trade or resale for profit if it were me. Much better pistols in the same price range. MHO of course.

Well damn.

Hot or cold it seems towards the XD's

I don't need one, might still get one, hard to pass over being able to have a beater or truck pistol with 7 to 10 mags

I absolutely love my 3.8 XDM, at that length it is closer to a Glock 19. Tho I have many Glocks they take a back seat to the XDM IMO.

They are great weapons IMO, the trigger is very good and needs no mods IMO. There have been some excellent sales on them.

I have an XDM45 and XDM9, both in 4.5" barrel length. Both are good shooters and I have had no problems with either pistol. They fit me better than my Glocks.

My first pistol I ever owned and shot was a Glock 26. It was sold quickly, and it was the last Glock I owned... I replaced it with a XD Service (the XDM and Mod 2 didn't exist yet). Like others have stated, it fit my hand prefecty. I currently EDC a Mod 2 subcompact...

XDs are very good guns that are solidity built. They don't get the respect they deserve IMHO. The only issue is the resale sucks, but that's also a plus as used deals can be had and prices are dropping. The hate they get usually comes from Glock or, at a much lesser extent, M&P fanboys who will cry about bore axis and weight.

I been seeing lots of XDMs on sale lately. They used to be Springfield's most expensive models, but now they're one of the least expensive. I predict that a XDM upgrade is in the future.

I hope they gripzone it. Still waiting for the XD-s Mod 2 in 9mm. Been using a XD mod 2 9mm for conceal carry for years and it even fits my xdm compact holster. The XD mod 2’s also fit safariland duty holsters for xdm.

I thought they already came out with the Mod 2 XDs? I never liked the XDs, but would have purchased one over the Shield had the XDs Mod 2 been on the market at that time...

OP I just found this deal for a OSP XDM: $375: https://www.theoutpostarmory.com/pro...397909376-2125

If I had the money I’d get on that myself.

Who buys a polymer pistol for resale value? Its a carry gun that you dont sell and run until it breaks.

Not all guns are carry guns. I'm not sure why the Internet has such a hard time understanding this.

I have an XDM 9mm in 4.5. i have close to 1500 rounds through it and no issues. Very accurate gun and the stock trigger isn’t bad at all.

I don't get it. Are XD's and the other "not a Glock" brands even collectible?

If no, then they are utilitarian tools not to be treated like a muscle car at a Mecum auction.

Yes, some people collect knives, watches, shoes, and yes, even polymer firearms from different manufacturers. Whether they're collectibles or not depends on the person.

Numerous models with significant changes between models. Whether or not that equates to price collecting is another story altogether. With the Hs2000/XD brand being nearly 20 years old there is a lot of model variations to collect.

One of the first guns I bought when I got back into guns was an xdm40 fullsize. Love that gun. Hard to beat with all the accessories and it shoots accurate as hell. Trigger is just fine stock and unlike a glock, doesn't feel like a brick in my hand. Feels much more like a 1911. Who cares about resale. Never understood the buy a gun and sell it thing. I have never sold a single gun Ive purchased. But then again I never make snap decisions and usually research and do some homework. Only problem is room in the safes.

The XDm does feel good in the hand for sure. But, it still has too much going against it for me to ever consider it. YMMV

Apparently, it's only when its trendy to do so.

I find it slighty amusing, ( and somewhat disappointing, ) when I see people.. fellow firearms owners, flip flop just like a politician when it comes to a stance on firearms/firearms manufacturers. Or, they just completely disregard a manufacturer's lack of full 2A support and blather on like idiots.

Daniel Defense, Springfield Armory and their relatively recent faux pas are good examples. Yet folks will still go to the mat for them. .

As for the OP, I'd just flip the magazines unless you're really in the market for a high capacity 9mm.

Springfield went from being against to being neutral on a bill that would have hurt their company, employees, and the people who purchase their weapons. They've long sense apologized, and did what they could to make things right. They've thrown money and support for several pro gun rights causes since then.

It wasn't a big deal to me in the first place, and I'm not going to do the Anties' bidding by going to bat against a gun company by trying to put them out of business, put the 2A loving employees out of work, and to prevent those, like many in this thread, who like their firearms from being able to buy them all because a couple of suits who had their backs against the wall tried to do what they thought was best from their company at that time....

Same goes for any other company. I'll go to bat against them if they're going against gun rights, but if they see the light, change, and start to support our cause, I don't see the point in continuing to blacklist them FOREVER...
