If the pin walks out again I will probably switch to those. Thanks for the heads up.

Great pic It's. I see u have a (relatively) higher mounted red dot there. I recently picked up the Holosun w ACSS reticle from AKOU.

One thing I observed when mounting mine on an M+M M10 w AKARs Parabellum rail dust cover mount is that I had complete unfettered full time access to the AK iron sights (stock front and AKARS fixed rear notch).

The Holosun mount is skeletonized so you can see though it front to back. Looks like it may possibly work similarly on the ACE as well.

Nice looking, especially the cheek rest on the 308. Very nice touches without the mega overkill.

308 AR Finished out Yesterday for my Buddy. Bolt carrier is from a milled Yugo (he is going to use a scope). Bolt is from a M76. Barrel was NOS with no cuts. Receiver is AWO.

You might notice I used a SAR block for this, when he moves down to Florida he is going to SBR it. I will cut the barrel down for him then. I also took the diameter on that brake down a bit to accommodate a Bayonet. Bayo blade only sticks out about 3 inches from the muzzle.

Today is UZI build day!....Yippee!!

Damn, I just checked APEX and galil parts and mags are much less spendy than I was thinking. I might have to save up for a kit.

Default My Galil

It is the battle torn look. I was thinking about replacing the handguard but I kinda like it. The grip needs some roughing up......

Leave the grip at the bottom of your range bag for a year and a half, that should rough it up some.

Quick question for Galil owners:

How does the stock stay secured when folded? Is the mechanism entirely within the attachment point to the rear of the receiver? I don`t see any latch like on an AKS-74.

It is a bit of an interesting folding mechanism. I am sure someone else can explain it better than I can. Even today I had to fumble with it a bit to get it to fold. It is me that is the problem though.

Yeah the grip was just trouble. I really wanted to keep the surplus one on there. The range bag trick might work though. Or maybe some quality time in my random screw, bolt, nail, and so on box. Nothing in there looks good at all. But I got my grubby hands on an original imi barrel and like the rough imported hand guards. So its a U.S. made copy of the Galil grip.

Smart idea with the screws and bolts. Just dump it in and shake well.

Yeah just remember the idea was mine. When I make my first million doing the service I will let you in on the ground floor. Assuming I do it and get good results.

Well it was your idea with a slight twist. It will end up in the courts for sure.

It uses a spring-assisted camming mechanism.
When it is folded, the spring is fully extended and keeps the stock in that position. To open the stock, the bracket piece must be pushed down to compress the spring.

It is possible to simply 'pry' the stock out from folded to open position because of the camming mechanism, but doing so will damage your stock and loosen it over time. A lot of videos show users doing this without realizing that they are putting a lot of friction force on the bracket/knuckle and wearing them out.

Got mine for $80 a piece... I think? A guy on AK Files bought a shit of them from a military surplus thing like a DOD left overs sight and was selling them last year or 2014?

Gas hole not drilled, so it *would be* single shot straight pull, but FCG and piston are not installed either. I'm going to keep it in this compliant form until Jan 1st when I can register it as an "assault weapon". I'm also debating cutting barrel and pinning flash hider to 16in.I think I'm going to replace the hand guard to a plastic one. What kind of finish do you all recommend?

-SAR kit
-CNC warrior receiver
-IMI 18in 1:7 barrel
