Trophy/souvenir panties/g strings.

Those are for wearing as headgear vs drawer liners.

lol

OP has got to Feng Shui the shit out of that drawer.

Seriously, I can see were someone would want a nonslip surface to place the pistol on. Keeps it in place, no banging sounds pulling it out or laying it down.

You think i should find myself rifling through drawer with loaded gun fishing for a condom in a state of sexual arousal in a possibly dark room? Plus condom wrappers are not non-slip.

I lay down apiece of thick black (no jokes) automotive carpeting cut to fit. Looks super.

Carpet may induce a rust issue, like laying a firearm under your bed on the carpeted floor.

Some sort of cradle or holder to keep from fumbling in the dark. It will keep it in ready mode for quick deployment.

Oooo make stand that keeps gun almost upright using a wooden dowel. An oiled wooden dowel

HF liner says “protect your tools from rust” i wonder how. I alwsys believed plastic attracts moisture, whereas at least synthetic fiber carpet will breathe. But i have no practical experience. Except things rusting in plastic bags.

Requires a drawer liner installation jig. About $59.99 at Jo Ann's Fabrics.

I don't get the fascination here with moisture and gun stuff. Do most of you guys live in a hut in the jungle? Are there a lot of Somali pirates on AK Files? I mean, just oil your stuff. No offense intended OP. I think a lot of the internet gun debate stuff is fun, but it has made some of us paranoid about things that need not be worried about.

Correct. I use a mousepad on top of my night stand. Not because I am protecting the pistol, but instead the night stand finish.

I saw my friend’s scorpion rust to shit left in his zip-up gun soft case.
And my shotgun’s trigger started to rust hanging on the wall. And when my dad had my keltec he left it in bag and it rusted up.

Also trying to sort out how much oil i can have in bore without contaminating chambered round. Corrently i went in w oiled patch, then mopped that up with almost dry one with which i wiped down exterior after oiling.

Sealed cloth lined bags are bad especially if loaded in them outside then brought inside. Lack of oil on the metal surface is bad.
Humid locations are bad.

The only two things in my nightstand drawer are Hump butter and spare mags, my pistol and a spare are tucked in the mattress in a holster I rigged up and the AR stays slung around the bedpost.

You could buy those cheap anti-skid mats for utensil drawers, that should work well and cost nothing.

Black open cell packing foam from any FREE source! Cut like you would foam in a Pelican case, but a looser fit.

I tan field mouse skins and line my drawers.

Oh you mean like drawers you put stuff in.

Never mind

Tell me more about that neoprene sponge fabric stuff? That sounds kinda fun.

If you are worried about the finish of your carry piece it is too expensive for you, or you are not carrying or shooting it enough. If you take it to the range enough to stay in practice and burn off all the rounds that may get moisture damaged then you are fine. Rust will not damage the function of a gun unless it is a ball of unrecognizable brown, beyond somali pirate stage, it will only lock it up if it isnt being used while the rust happens.
