It's just a matter of time really.

Bowman kits after a long wait. Looks like there will be a round two.

You can make one work but, it's really too tall.

I don't know about that. I've measured a recreator yugo blank against a factory yugo 5.56 receiver and there was no significant difference in height that I could tell. I was originally going to rework a m90np (pulled the adapter so it'll use normal mags) into a m21 when I was just collecting loose parts, but I don't think I'm going to go that route anymore. I remember reading about issues with the nodaks guys were using to build up m90a/m95 kits, but I don't know if that was a nodak specific thing or not. Don't have a nodak to compare against.

here's a mockup on the torn down m90np just for fun, probably not gonna use that receiver though--I'm rebuilding the m90np with a modified m70 front trunnion and have already opened it up for normal magazines. I've contacted matt at recreator about making a m21 receiver and he was agreeable to the idea, just said it might take a while.

They'll be my first and second builds...

And the Pa md. 86 might not happen in June. I still don't have a barrel or reciever.

The tantal is definitely happening. The only question now is whether or not I want to run a side rail.

He missed my first message I sent, it was a month or so back when they were really busy--I shot him another email about a week later and he replied promptly. I sent him a whole bunch of good reference photos and told him I might be able to send him a rear receiver stub--his only real concern was being able to stamp in the reinforcing ribs at the rear, as it would be tricky due to them being so close to the bend. He said he'd be totally on board with giving it a shot, but was clear that he couldn't provide a timeframe for completion. I'm kind of impatient though, and have been toying with the idea of welding the rear section of the original receiver into a new yugo receiver...a lot of difficult decisions with these kits lol. Barrels are the other issue--the profile is pretty unique and it'd be nice to have something chrome lined/hammer forged with the proper twist rate. I was going to use the m90np barrel originally, but it would require a lot of work (welding up the gas port, pin slots, handguard retainer slot, reprofiling for the handguard retainer location, and shortening) so I've decided to just make the previously mentioned mods to that rifle and enjoy it that way.

Two Rivers posted one on instagram a week or so ago and I asked what the plan was for parts.
The reply was ..... working w Chideres on receivers and doing the barrels in house.

Hmm, wonder if they’d be open to doing a small run of barrels or if they’re just doing it for their personal kits? I’ll probably shoot them an email later

An M85PAP is about 37.90 high measured at the rear of the magwell. Don't know about a Recreator but a Childers is 38.90 which is the same as most RPK type receivers.

It will work but your stop plate will be pretty thin.

I did not document the Tantal build unfortunately. I was a little preoccupied trying not to fuck anything up.

Still need a bipod and paint, but it's built though!

It was suggested that my Romy AKM kit would fit in here so here we go.

Bulgarian/Molot over stamp RPK74 kit.,, in plum furniture.

About 90% done building but still needs selector marks and final receiver painting.
