Default Need new furniture for an Arsenal AK.

It's an Arsenal SLR-101 model, machined receiver, 7.62x39 caliber.

I've been thinking about replacing the existing plastic furniture with wood furniture, including a stock with a cavity and a butt plate with a flapper for a cleaning kit. Something that looks like the original Russian AK furniture.
Any advice on what will fit best? I believe a stock from a rifle with stamped receiver won't fit a rifle with a machined (forged) receiver, right?
Any advice will be appreciated.

Milled is the term your looking for. This is the site of Karazyukranian a member of the files. https://www.sovietstocks.com/product...7r-original/11

Wood or the Bulgarian salmon/bakelite is a great way to go. I went with wood on my SA93.

After shooting about 100 rounds, my AK gets very hot and nearly impossible to handle without gloves. Wood seems to handle the heat better. Wood is also easier to handle in freezing weather.
BTW, my Colt M4 has plastic furniture but I have not problem handling it. It seems to stay much cooler than the AK, after shooting the same amount or rounds.

Wood doesn't help in my experience. My heavy wood AK runs hotter than my polymer. They all need gloves eventually.

I started running Magpul handguards on my AK's and it works a ton better than regular handguards, the heat-shielding is just way better.

Easy trick though to make any handguard cooler, run some Thermaflect header tape on the inside between the heatshield and the handguard, it will stay cool enough to handle even after multiple mag dumps.

+1 to Soviet Stocks. I've got his work in/on my krink and it is good stuff! The wood is beautiful.
