Did you have to modify the trigger housing to accept the safety sear? I have the safety sear parts for mine but my trigger housing isn't drilled for the magical 3rd hole.

That's very interesting I've never seen one that didn't have the hole for the self timer. Can you post some photos? Is the trigger housing original to the rifle (.308 and some 54r Chinese NDMs were imported with a trigger group that didn't make use of the self timer). Photos please!

Just a heads up, I had some pierced primer issues in the PPU 182gr Match as well as their 150gr SP offerings. Also had issues with S&Bs 180gr Match load.

Just be sure to check primers for any piercing as it can lead to damage to the bolt face and firing pin, and, if left unnoticed, can lead to a fixed firing pin situation if junk gets back into the firing pin channel.

I can attest to the nasty outcomes of an OOB discharge caused by a fixed firing pin in an SVD and Wolfmanreid can second my warnings after seeing the carnage as well.

BL: check all commercial ammo for primer piercing issues early and often.

Was that with a floating or spring-loaded firing pin?

No issues at all with the ammo, although I only had one box of the match and two boxes of 182gr FMJ. The match did much better than I expected. Even when the barrel heated up i could still put all 10 rds of FMJ in the head of target off handed.

Yeah, the trigger housing is the original unit that came with the rifle. It is an unfired B-West Tiger that I converted with all military furniture, front sight, adj gas, etc... very much the same as the OP.

I'll try to post pics of the trigger housing.
