Default honest thoughts on the Magpul K2 grip for AK

really looking hard at getting one. Only one video on Youtube that I can find. Seems good. What say those that have held?

No opinion for the AKs but I really like the ergonomic of the K2+ grip for ARs. In the process of standardizing all my ARs with K2+ grips.

I dig them. I run SL’s on my stamped guns and K2’s on my milled guns.

It's a grip.
It won't make a big deal one way or the other.
If you like it go for it.

Love them, ditched my Magpul MOE's for them and run them on my M92 and SLR-95

I have one on an AR. It is a nice feeling grip. I don't see why it wouldn't be just as nice on an AK.

All my ak's wear stock popsicle sticks, they work for me. I have very little if any Magpul stuff on any of my rifles save for BUIS and a BAD lever. That said if a good value on a solid part is your goal, go for it, otherwise someone else makes the same part but better (Phase 5, BCM) etc, just my opinion though. Personally id go for something else.

Everyone's hand is different. You'll never know until you try it. I've tried just about every grip out there and for me it's always Hogue. Ugly as sin but so perfect. Close second for my mits are US Palm grips. I have one, and only one, in a box lol

Thanks. Now I just need to wait for a free shipping no minimum from Brownells. The price with my C&R discount is just too good.

I like the regular AK MOE grip better than the K2 grip on a full length rifle. On a AK pistol, I bet the K2 would feel better but haven't tried. Both are pretty big improvements to the standard grip.

I had a K2 grip but it tended the throw the gun/weight more forward than a more traditional grip angle. Itís OK on an AR but the AK is too front heavy to not have that little amount of rearward leaverage on the grip. I went back to a Bakelite grip.

This is what feel as well. Lately though I've been enjoying Hogue's again as well.

Have MOE and K2, MOE feels better. For that reason I have 2 MOEs and 1 K2.

K2 > MOE fo sho!

Actually, there is no way to determine how a grip will feel for you based on others opinions. One dude just said the K2 allows his rifle to dip in the front more than the MOE, for me its the complete opposite, the K2 allows my full length and heavy SLR-95 to stay straight holding one handed in comparison to the MOE..........my suggestion: spend the $17 and try it for yourself

I put a K2 on my Vepr FM and like it a lot. The less angled K2 feels more comfortable than the standard grip because my wrist is not angled up as much and also helps with not "chicken winging" my right elbow.

Have one on an AR and one on an AK. Seems fine. I tend to like Hogue better or a fatter wood grip.

I've been putting the K2+ on everything. I just like the feel better than plain old plastic and they have a clean look to them.

I have gone through a bunch of grips and point out pros and cons of each.
Check out my thread here.
http://www.akfiles.com/forums/showth...=300602&page=4
The K2 is on page 4 or 5. You might have to do a little digging.
I also review comblock standard, wood grips, MOE and US Palm.
I gotta say the K2 for me is the best I've ran.

I got one coming now. Brownells had free shipping no minimum yesterday and with my C&R discount it was $15.09 shipped. They only had the tan one in stock so I plan on RIT dying it to match my shellac covered furniture.

I have been running the normal MOE grip on my rifle so Iíll be using that as a baseline. I got a K2 grip for my braced M92 and I liked the grip angle MUCH better. When (occasionally) shouldered, my wrist is at a completely natural angle, and as others have said Iíve found it gives me better leverage on the gun and I can much more easily hold the front end up when using one hand for mag changes etc. I put it on my rifle just to see if I liked it on there too, and it was fantastic. When I find a deal Iím getting one for my rifle. I also put one on my AR Iím building and itís super comfy on there too. Overall itís currently my favorite grip, and for the record I like it on ARs a lot more than BCM. Itís my go to grip now.

Buy it and try it out.
if you don't like it, sell it in the MP.

I've been thinking about trying out all the magpul AK grips and going with the one the best suits my needs.
