So you think perm'd to 16" total barrel, yes?

I sent the member a PM.

I can't find it, but somewhere on that site is the statement "we have X,000 Galil rifles that can be made into kits or sold internationally."

Galil could be the new Romy-G.
I dunno about Romy G, but it would be nice to see the Galil market grow. I would assume this is where Numrich has gotten them from. A large run of CNCW receivers would be nice but I agree a bit lower cost. I don't know what they have done volume wise in their last runs but if they could increase the volume to lower cost with commitments to buy, I might grab 2 or 3 myself. The next factor is going to be barrels. GM barrels are out there and are hit or miss, and whether the ones in the other thread were to happen remains to be seen.

My guess yes. The amount of barrel length between the front HG retainer and gas block appears visually closer to an AR model. The SAR retainer is very close to the gas block. The SAR has an approx 13' barrel so seeing as to how much is past the gas block on that gun and how some of the IMI 16 inch AR/ARMs rifles look that would be my guess

Based on the way they are packed, I'm 99.99% sure.

I know CAI can contract with various shops to reverse engineer and deliver VZ-58 types and Galil types, assemble them together with the parts kits, package them with mags in a pouch, and sometimes a bayonet for ~$500.

I predict AWO will perfect their receiver and get their price lower, but it would also be cool to see Caspian drop a ~$150 receiver now that demand is back. Perhaps even some other manufacturer?

CNC Warrior is still the best bet, but I think that once they've recouped their non-recurring engineering costs they should drop their price into the range and become a competitor.

I don't see enough differentiation between GM and the barrels in the other thread... so I assume they are supposed to compete on chrome and cost?

I'd like to see a truly high quality barrel with a 5.56 chamber, 1:7 twist, chrome lined, and offered in 13", 16", and 18".

Definitely it's AR length gas... just super curious about the barrel length.

Easy enough, you need a barrel and bolt and 7.62x39 mags...thats it.

Would I need a different HG retainer and Gas Block to go straight AR?

I really dig this one (below) which I believe is an Apex kit, but not sure if it's 16" or 14.?" perm'd?

I think Tort Tort is the only game except for AWO. As far as I know the AWO receivers were what was left over from Todd Groves now defunct ORF.

I can't find it, but somewhere on that site is the statement "we have X,000 Galil rifles that can be made into kits or sold internationally."

Those rifles would be a dream come true but its timely and costly to get over to the states. Robert Bowman can tell you all about that as thats what he does. I dont see the margin coming down anytime soon and the ARM kits sold at GPC are a sheer miracle at those price point!

Galil could be the new Romy-G.

Someone who didnt like the carry handle chopped it off. A common practice done by a irritated IDF soldier.

Sad thing about those chopped carry handles. A big reason why there are not too many.

that's what I figured. what a bummer. at least that provides hope that some of these kits may come with the carry handle
