Yeah, I believe you're right. I emailed them to see and am waiting on a response. I'll update once I hear back just so anyone else that may be curious can know too.
Also, I agree with you. I bought mine (complete rifle, not build) at $499 flat during their sale and my only complaint was the wimpy recoil assembly and spring which kept trying to hang up on the rear rails. It was an easy and inexpensive fix. Just replaced it with a milled polish assembly and an ALG recoil spring and boom.. cycles smooth. I do plan to replace the cast carrier with one of their forged ones, though. That casting is just sketchy to me.

I just completed my build, all my parts appear to either be billet or hammer forged. Im very please with the quality so far. Time will tell if it will hold out.

I only about 6 months into the AK "world", so I've got a lot of learning to do. I keep seeing these "old timers" on here bashing the hell out of US made AKs and thought "AK snobs, just like the AR snobs". Obviously, this huckleberry was wrong. IMO, my old WASR and my new RH-10 components look much better than what I saw here. It seems there's just a basic lack of QC. Like the attitude is "get the shit out the door". OP, I mean no offense and I'm not bashing your rifle or choices. Nor am I bashing every US maker, but now I understand why these "old timers" on here start ramping up in attack mode with US AKs. I wish some of the posters were somewhat more polite, but maybe they're tired of telling the rest of us the same thing over and over (and maybe some of them are just buttheads - that's a joke old timers- no need to attack me)!

I take no offense to another persons opinion, opinions are like assholes, everyone has one and they all stink to someone. I love my PSAK now that its all settled out, no malfunctions to speak of and the whole rifle is looking good, granted I have only put 400 rounds through it. I already have others to compare to. A few Veprs, a Saiga, soon to be WASR 10, Mak 90 and a few more. I wanted a US AK just because I hope SOMEONE in this country will learn how to make and succeed at making an AK which is every bit as reliable as any com block rifle. Will it be inexpensive? I doubt it. If people are willing to pay $1k for an excellent quality com block, I don't see why, if all the parts are quality and the attention to detail and QC is there, why us US market buyers would not have paid that much for one previously.

I will say that in todays market of sub $500 AR's it doesn't much make sense to pay a whole hell of a lot more for an AK variant, unless its a collectible. Save the $ and pick up some AR's while the market is cold on them.
