Default New toy (1912 nagant revolver)

I need this to close out my soviet WW2 collection. Itís a factory refurb, but still has Czar marking. Didnít ďstealĒ it, but got it for a good price. Very interesting revolver, and my source has THOUSANDS of rounds for sale for it.

Have you shot it? I ask because it’s such a pain in the ass to not only shoot but reload you’ll probably just say fuck it and not reload.

Sweet, I had a 1943 dated one for a few years. Is it single action only being a 1912?

Nice pick up! Even though it is refinished, a 1912 Czarist Nagant is very cool! They are historical and interesting to shoot.

The one that I kept is a CCCP marked 1924 matching original finish.

Dude I love it. Beautiful piece. They are obsolete as hell, but they work and I wouldnít want to be shot with one lol. Heíll, they were being used as standard issue weapons in Eastern Europe for security guard jobs up until last year!

Yeah it felt bad doing it but I reason it as unless it is a rarer model ie SAO or 22lr or such they are pretty commen guns ..And frankly not really all that great heavy triggers and very slow loading/unloading ..It still hurt to thread it though lol ...But it makes it more fun to shoot ..To at least say how much you want to bet you cant silence a revolver

Where I bought it from has tons of ammo (1092) for $300. Plus boxes of ammo (14 rounds I think) for $5. Gonna stock up!

Yes, go back and buy the ammo, Prvi will make runs of it and it will be available for a while at reasonable prices and then it will dry up. The surplus ammo stopped coming in years ago. When Nagants first were imported in the early - mid 90’s they were cheap and ammo was almost free. Before that Nagants were scarce in the US and ammo was non existent.

The most commen are the arsenal rebuilds dated in the 30’s and 40’s. Czarist Nagants and early 1920’s Soviet Nagants are scarce. Non rebuilt, original condition, non import marked are also scarce.

That is odd, somebody might have had them in a collection and brought them in. Were they all refinished and did they all have the reddish brown plastic grips? I have seen very few Czarist dated Nagants, and not all at the same place and time. Maybe I need to get out more.

Great pick up, a nice piece of history. These pistols were used (by the Czar and the soviets) as much to keep their own soldiers in the fight, as they were to fight the opposition forces. Their body count of Russians is probably higher than of any enemy.

A must have for playing Russian Roulette.

I've got a 1944, don't shoot it much. It is way down the list of guns that are fun/easy/accurate to shoot. A case of that ammo will last you a lifetime, unless you're just a masochist.

In addition to the PRVI stuff mentioned above, Fiocchi also loads it. With either of those you don't have to worry about corrosive primers, like the surplus.

Graf's has Fiocchi and surplus:

SGAmmo has PRVI

Picked it up today, along with 224 rounds (16 14rd boxes). Going to clean it up and will post more pics later. They have crates upon crates of ammo for these pistols at RGuns. At least, if I like shooting it, ammo is easily replaced

Cleaned it up. Everything is is really nice shape. Barrel has some pitting, but rifling is still strong. Now I just need a Makarov!

Youíre going to be old and gray by the time you get to 50 rounds. Might as well package it up and write the will.

This is the best price I’ve found in a long time: 2.25 a box or $160 for a 1092 can.
