The P-1ís came with camo holsters before. Interesting the P-38ís were listed as Sold Out, when they actually had more on hand. Sales Tactic?

I had a 1943 BYF P38 and when the P1's started to come into the US as surplus back in the late 90's - early 00's I decided to pick one up. Back in the 70's to early 80's if you wanted a 9mm you had limited choices. Luger 08's and wartime P38's, Browning High Powers, S&W M39's and M59's. Walther was importing new P1's but they were pricey.

My FFL at the time picked up a few of these West German war stock reserve P1's that had been released and sold to the US surplus market. The box and paper work are what came with it. This one had the black leather holster, cleaning kit and two magazines packed with it. I have picked up a couple of extra Walther P1 mags for it. I am pretty sure that the price was right under $300. I sold my wartime P38 with most of the rest of my old C&R collection when I relocated to Texas but decided to hang onto the P1, it is a great shooter and an interesting part of Cold War History!

Great looking rig.Remember in the 2002-2004 time frame when P1s poured in and several sources brought them in for 220.-230. and shipping.

It might have been that time frame and that price, I do remember that it was too good of a deal to pass up!
