Admirable conversion! Turned out first rate in appearance. Great Photo also.

Thanks, it is third originally in wood sportster Vepr's I converted, two other been .308 and 5.45. Honestly I prefer this way instead of getting more expensive FM Veprs.

Looks good I would be leary of burning myself on the gas tube, but different looking. How much weight difference are the stock handgaurds compaied to the Rifleworks. Nice rifle.

This is not only my AK and I am not worry of getting burned, I will attach some front handle to it. It is very light handguard, very compatible to wood one in weight. Excellent quality handguard, quick shipping as well. Also I took m-lok model since I do have rail for it already. K-mod is out of stock.

That makes stripped down look good. I can see wanting to try it that way - it's sorta like not wanting to put the roof up on a nice little sports convertible.

Yes, I saw this style before here and also got inspired by these photos posted by someone:

Very nice! Do the metal handguards get too hot to hold after multiple mag dumps vs. factory wood handguards?

I attached k-lok rail and front handle, no difference to any other AK I shot in heat.

I don't like it before too, but now I think it is the best handle, I love Hogue. It feels very good in hands. And I do own Fab and Palm, Hogue is better as for me.

Nice job, OP. I like the looks of the Krebs stock adaptor. Did you have to cut the tang to install it?

The Krebs adapters do not require the tang to be cut.

You don't drink out of that canteen do you?

Clean, simple looking Vepr conversion.

I would say yes, even before Vepr ban I feel that there is no point on buying any other Vepr besides sportster models. I am modifying all my rifles anyway. It cost less and you are installing parts you like yourself, it is fun and some extra experience. Bullet guide is only part you need some minor skills to install, it is a bit simplier on 5.45 Vepr vs 7.62 because of size of the part.
Anyway, I would buy 54r Vepr if I could find one with the reasonable price tag otherwise I am all set with the Vepr's.

How is it different to any other AK? Get gloves and front handle attached. It is m-lok handguard, attach whatever you like to it.
