Aimpoint FTW
I agree. Unless one has personally tested a decent sample of these optics with positive results, one is usually better off buying an Aimpoint AOC, PRO, COMP, or H1,T1/2, etc if their life could depend on the optic. ie, Home defense, Patrol Rifle, Contractor, etc.

I don't know if you guys are 100% right on the Chinese optics. I've seen the same thing happen with other electronics for music equipment (guitar pedals, instruments, etc). The other thing in the back of my mind is that with the Chinese always stealing ideas from other countries do you think it's possible that they are also stealing from each other? I could be wrong just a thought.

No one has shot with one of these yet?

I'm going to try and get out with it later today.

Freezing it in a block of ice, letting it roll off of the roof, running out over with my Jeep, microwaves and surge protectors, shooting the mount while it's attached to the optic, etc.... Basically, stuff that is so ridiculous that if it did pass, it would be amazing. I only do this type of testing AFTER the optic has passed all of my other tests. I've had a couple pass everything that I could throw at it, but most of them fail. And failure is the whole point. I push them to failure so I can document the process, and what all it took to get there...

I'm planning to get one for my 16inch AR carbine, and move the 3x prism to 18inch rifle.

I finally killed mine. Tough optic, definitely worth the $129.00 selling price. Especially with a lifetime warranty. It took quite a bit of damage in my testing, but in the end, my Jeep won that battle. After it passed all of the standard testing, it failed when I passed full retard mode and went straight to potato.

The red dot is still bright, and goes on and off easily. But the elevation is pegged out and I'm still hitting about 9ish inches low and a little to the right at 25 yards. That's gonna be way the hell off at 100 yards. But, that only happened when I checked zero AFTER running it over TWICE on a semi hard pact dirt and gravel mixed area with my Jeep' 's 31" mud tires. Once forwards and once backwards.

I'll get something written up about it with pics here in n the near further. I've got some other stuff to get done first. But, overall, I wouldn't hesitate to buy one. I wouldn't take it to combat, but for someone looking to own a 30mm red dot that can take a serious ass beating while having a lifetime warranty, ya just can't go wrong there.

So after all the abuse, and only failing at full retard, why would you not take it to combat? I imagine a PRO would have the same outcome.

One of our regular members here simply dropped has Aimpoint ACO and it broke.

Maybe, maybe not. I tested the PA 3x Prism Scope with the ACSS reticle and that thing passed everything I could throw at it. I'd take that model into combat without hesitation. Respectfully, if you want to take your PA 30mm into combat, by all means, go for it. When I talked to the owner of PA many years ago, even he said that for LE work, he would rather I used one of the proven optic companies, Aimpoint, Trijicon, etc..

I'd love to test an Aimpoint, Trijicon, or Eotech out, but they won't send me anything for torture testing. Several other companies have sent me their products for testing though. But the bigger aforementioned companies know that the results will be published publicly. Personally, I think that they are nervous that an optic that is half or less of their cost will measure up to theirs. But that's just my opinion. I know that certain models from Aimpoint and Trijicon have been tested by military and LE before being approved for use, so that's what I've always gone by when making a decision to use it.

If I can push an optic to failure and it keeps screaming for more, then I'll run it. I just put out the data and my feelings on it. Example, the PA 3x Prism Scope with ACSS reticle is a winner in my book because it took every damn thing that I could throw at it. It never failed me. I had to nuke it to get it to fail, and even then, the reticle is etched into the glass and was still serviceable.

That unit doesn't look anything like your previously mentioned Aliexpress unit or the PA unit.

Took the PA Advanced 30mm out today and ran it on both my Mossberg 930SPX and PTR91. It worked well on both, held zero on both and looked good doing it.

About 200 rounds between the two guns. So far, I'm impressed.
