Default Supressed Mosin...Finally!

A friend stopped by the shop this afternoon while I was working on the flash suppressor mount for my brand new Rugged Surge Suppressor. I've had it a couple weeks but hadn't had time to go shooting so I suggested we head to the range to test it out. Mark owns a few guns and I assumed that he'd shot them before. I was wrong. Turns out he'd only shot a .22 at close range up till today. All I had was my cell phone to take a couple of photos and a short video clip of his first shot. I pasted them together to make a very short video of his cherry popping.

The loads are my standard 174gr SMK over 44 gr of Varget hand loads. I don't own a chronograph so don't have an idea of speed but at 44.6grains the bullets start getting squirrley.

I was very surprised at the sound myself. These were literally the first rounds fired through the Rugged Surge and it sounded like a .22 to me while shooting it.

Very nice. It is amazing how much sound and recoil they take out of a rifle.

I just had to try the new can out on my PSG1ish Cetme. These 5 shots were kind of rushed but still managed to keep them under an inch at 100 yards.

NOTE: on CETME for suppression. I ran a HK21 locking pc on my PTR 308/7.62 rifle. this made a huge difference with the silencer. I dont remember what degree it was though. but it slows it down just enough where it is very quiet. prior to that it was obnoxious, ear muff mandatory using the silencer.

I already had a 40 degree LP in this one since the barrel is 24".
