Unhappy Apex Going Away?

Well this really sucks! I guess this was going to happen sooner or later. Apex also has left the AK Forum too.

Christ on a crutch.

For the lazy who can't be bothered to actually look, Apex is taking some time away from the board.

They are not going out of business.

Actually APEX has always had decent stuff at fair prices. Not everything can be cheap...these days. Most especially these days.

Shitting on them, and forgetting their many years of good service to the builders here - and across a slew of other sites....is just a sign of the times.

I don't blame them for not wishing to engage in "discussions" here, that are generally turned into whine and attack fests - by members (new and old)....who have helped lower the overall IQ and respectability of the place into the toilet.

That said - I will still buy from them, they often have stuff others don't.

As for the CC thing.....these days you would have an easier time saying who has NOT been hacked - than naming places that have been hacked.

I know that doesn't fit with the usual suspects and their need to talk some shit....but that's life, and reality.

Anyways.....they are not going out of business, just refraining from wasting time arguing with those who have other agendas...

The tide is going out in the gun industry. We will see who's swimming naked in the coming years, pulling in the reigns a bit can be a good business move.

The Bernie Sanders', hiLIARy Clinton's and the Andrew Cuomo's are out there waiting for the establishment Pubbies and Demoncrats in CONgress to totally thwart, frustrate and suppress The Donald's hope for change then they will pick up the broken pieces and put together a "progressive" collectivist, national-international socialist feral government to rule US.

American credit card companies are actually at fault. They refuse to upgrade their systems because they did a cost analysis and found it was cheaper to deal with the fraud and theft then to upgrade to a more secure system as has already taken place in Europe. We are litteraly using decades old technology and are vulnerable to all kinds of hacks and identity theft. I've had my identity stolen and I've never found out how or why. I use LifeLock now and have had no issues but that's 10 dollars a month I dident used to have to spend.

I got a Bulgarian gas block and fsb they listed as new old stock. They were beat to shit, had little or no blueing left. I called asked for a call tag and a refund. They wanted ME to pay to ship it back to them because of THEIR mistake and we're condescending and rude assholes! I opted not to send it back on my dime as I thought that was mighty shitty of them to charge me for THEIR mistake!

Bought a lot of merch from them. Often they had items no one else had. Always good to go in my book.

I also have bought many times from them over the years. Good deals on some stuff, looking in the right place at the right time helped me there. Had what I needed that no one else did other times, and at what I considered a fair price.

Face it, surpluse firearms has become a tough racket (actually any milsurp equipment)and prices are going up as their have been restrictions placed on restrictions, and there is a limited supply.

Never had a bad experience with APEX and they'll continue to be one of the first places I look for gun parts and accessories.

Sucks they are gone. I have paid a lot of money and gotten some pretty shitty condition kits though. But that issue isn't isolated to their company. It's a problem seems to come with the business they are in, and running away isn't going to change anything.

Sounds like they are trying to pull back to focus more on the business and some of the problems people have been reporting. Hopefully that is what they are doing.
I've bought lots of stuff from them over the years and have yet to experience anything bad.

Richard took time to talk with members here.
He is a good guy with good intentions.
I'm sure there must be a bigger picture here.
I'm not seeing it however.

Never a problem with Apex parts or service! Prices however have become absurd on everyone's kits/parts.

Apex did me right over the years & I bought a lot of stuff from them with few problems.. Times have changed & so has the industry of selling mil surp firearms parts & kits. We need to look @ the politicians & the ATF who gave us the 922r law, cut barrels & other destroyed parts that used to be simply saw cut, not to mention import restrictions like barrels. It will keep going down hill until enough of us put a stop to it ( like that will magically happen). Let APEX regroup & see what happens.

I can't complain about their price. I just got a scope/base that was at least $100 more everywhere else. They will continue to get my business when I see good deals.

APEX is a good business and have done me fair and just. I think people shitting on them are either making up problems or had gotten someone having a bad day.

As far as prices they have went up but I think there headed back down. The market in general is getting soft but thats a good thing for consumers and shitty for sellers.

Very sad. It only takes a few to badger a business to leave a forum.

I placed an order with Apex today. I have done business with them off and on for many years and I never had any problems with their products or service.

If that's the case, why do we have so many active AK Files Vendors ( with more showing interest in signing on every day )?

Methinks it's not our membership.

Older post but I felt the need to throw in my say for whatever reason-

It seems the last six months vendors have been much more active, and that's a great thing.

We have a good handful of vendors that jump right in and have thick enough skin to see through the criticism and make good business decisions based on customer needs and feedback. Some don't seem to care, some don't make the bulk of their money from us. That just the way things are.

No hard feelings, and all that.

I just ordered parts from Apex last week. Don't like a price? Buy it somewhere else. Customer service tends to be excellent from them in my experience, and I have always believed that it comes from the customer's side too. Vote with your wallet. They treat you wrong? Bring it up with them. They fix it? Cool. They don't? Deal with it in an appropriate way and move on. There are other vendors for 99% of what they sell, with lower and higher prices. This goes for nearly any product or part in any esoteric hobby/industry.

Ordered a couple of M70 Gas Blocks through Sam and the parts came in better condition than what he described to me over the phone. So far, NO complaints on any of the orders I have placed with APEX!

I'm not looking to pile on here, maybe gain some insight and offer some advice. I've bought from APEX in the past and have no reason to stop. The prices tend to go up and down with the market though I have seen them take advantage of market spikes and shortages of desirable products through their pricing, this is capitalism at its best. One must take the good with the bad. I haven't experienced anything like what tnxdshooter experienced which certainly doesn't do any good for both parties involved and frankly am having a hard time believing that's all that went down but that's what the man says happened, Ill take his word for it, I would be a little more than perturbed if that's what took place. That said, they are their own worst enemy. For example, look at these nice East German AK kits that came in, no one else has them to my knowledge which makes them highly desirable straight off. Yet they find a way to muck it up by "sanitizing" them. Everyone in the gun world knows that the part numbers matching is what makes one kit or gun more desirable than the next. So to make things simpler on themselves they remove the numbers off the kit parts where they could without causing any damage. Now you have kits where some items have numbers and some don't, so they don't have to be bothered with making sure the kits have matching numbers and don't have to sell them that way. Why not just charge a few bucks more for the kit? Even if you had to pay someone to go through them you can more than make it up by charging an extra 20 or 40 bucks for the kit. I know I would surely pay that much more for a numbers matching kit but now I wont buy one of these kits at all. You had a diamond in the rough and just shattered it. I respect what they have brought to the community and have benefitted from it in the past, but this is not the way to win over customers and keep a positive buzz in any talk about the company.

Reading the above It appears that you misunderstand the difference between "SANITIZED" and "scrubbed".
APEX sells "Sanitized" East German kits.
APEX also sells some barrel assemblies where the manufacturer removed the trunnion markings, "scrubbed" them off.
The guns were sanitized before they ever left East Germany, bound for Croatia as aid to their Army during the Balkans war.
That history of German aid in the Balkans conflict is now documented and can be found with GOOGLE searches.

The YouTube video we made may help with this understanding.

ALSO, regarding the above complaint from tnxdshooter, APEX is not a source for NOS Bulgarian parts.
I have had lots of NOS Polish parts and some NOS Romanian and Yugo parts.
If you order from APEX and don't receive the correct item or condition I encourage you to call my Customer Service, they will take care of you.
If you have your invoice handy we will want to know initials of who picked and QC'd that order.
