Default Lining nightstand drawer

Want to line drawer of my nightstand for pistol and flashlight. Something that will lay flat without adhesive, no slip, inexpensive, and wont tend to hold air moisture. Can probably get some free automotive speaker cabinet carpet?

What do you guys use?

OP, you can use whatever fits your requirements ( which, incidentally, perfectly describe a product called "drawer liner" )

"inexpensive"

$1 per roll at the Dollar Tree

https://www.dollartree.com/Magic-Cov...SABEgKxdfD_BwE

also the "yoga mat" idea is pretty good, if you get the rubberized foamy ones- I kind thing the isomat type closed cell foam might absorb/hold humidity.

Quarter sawn solid oak, because the drawer doesn't need any lining for a defensive weapon and flashlight. It's a gun, not a Hummel Figurine.

I used mechanics tool box liner.

No sliding around as your reaching for it. Less clunking in a dark, silent, house as you try to respond to a bump in the night without giving yourself away.

I've got hooks between the mattress and boxsprings.
That's where my Shockwave sleeps
Lot's of holster options that fit to the bed and are closer and handier than a nightstand drawer.

Good Gawd, you guys are about as metrosexual as they come. Open the drawer, put the damned pistol in it. When needed, just open the drawer and get the pistol out. You don't need a pair of silk panties to line the drawer, nor any other nonsense. People have been stashing pistols in nightstands for generations. Suddenly guys need low recoil 9mm pistols, lightweight plastic, and now foam padding for their guns.

Holy cripes, man! Grow a pair for crying out loud.

But what if the pistol is extra pretty? Maybe he's worried about it getting scuffed up pulling it out every night multiple times because he's in a bad neighborhood? Maybe I've been too hard on the OP? It could be he's up at all hours responding to noises? If you're gonna do some killing in your home defense, you don't want to use something that looks like a battlefield pick up.

Real men wear their gun in a shoulder holster when in bed. The nightstand is for the extra magazines and condom storage...

Back in the day I got this mat from a friend who worked for the beer distributor who stocked all the party stores/bars in Detroit. It was a promotional item for the bar and would work great for what you have in mind (especially if you actually have a Colt). I've used it to line my wood chisel drawer in my garage but brought it inside a while back for some reason.

I'm glad some of you guys can see where I'm coming from here. This thread topic is like watching a gun owners edition of Queer Eye for the Straight Guy. The guns you want to remain pristine should be locked away in your humidity controlled safe. Your working guns (like the pistol in your nightstand, the pistol on your belt, and the rifle/shotgun you may decide to keep around for defense)... Those should look like they're used.

Ever wonder why most issued police trade in, or issued milsurp firearms show wear? It's because someone lugged the damned things around day in and day out, ran qualifications with them in the rain/snow/etc, bumped them on shit, practiced draws from the holster with them, directed traffic with them exposed to all kinds of weather, and on, and on.

+1.,and better than carpet and has pass through air holes etc.
Keeps stuff from sliding around if you yank the drawer open or closed in a hurry etc.
No moisture really unless the room is damp etc.
